David Luiz joins Arsenal in an £8million move.

Okay, so David Luiz after missing out on training in a bid to force a move to to Arsenal has agreed a deal of around £8million to join the Gunners. The deal was completed today which also happens to be the last day in the Summer transfer window.
The Brazilian centre-back seemed ready to leave Chelsea that he had to walk out on train on Thursday and I am sure the move paid out as he as secured the move but the price s what is making the internet go loco.

My Thoughts.

This news came as a shock to me because I wasn't expecting to see the figure looking so 'un-Luiz' like given his exceptional form and strides with Chelsea. He is a very good centre-back and can hold the ball with so much confidence that only very few in his class can do.
Or was he hand twisted to move and had no choice?
Did the last minute deal make him take a pay cut to join the Gunners?
Was this a desperate attempt to leave that he had to settle for anything?
Why did he accept such an amount to move to one of the top 4 clubs in the game?

Whatever it may have been about doesn't call for such desperation to move to a club for whatever he could get. Chelsea is rid of him and he may be ending his career in Europe at Arsenal and then maybe move to the MLS as everyone has been doing of late.
It just dawned in me that, the MLS seems to be a pool for old players and I kinda just see that the league is created for the old? lol.

Well, I wish him well and hope he finds his game or what is left of it.., but "£8million? Seriously Luiz"???

Yes, I am also curious, why they sent him for such a low amount at a transfer period, when they cannot purchase any players. While playing Champions league and Premier league (+ 2 cups), is it enough to have Christensen, Zouma, Tomori and Rudiger (injured)? I am not sure about this, David was the most experienced one. But if there were any problems in communication so maybe it's understandable (for 20 mil., not for 8). But I loved his funny character.

It is really a shock to see him get sold for £8million even if he was 40 years old. But then, we do not really understand what went down behind the doors and why they feel the need to offload him when they have most of their players down.
Good luck to them though.

Chelsea's policy is generally not to offer contract extensions to over 30s so it was surprising that he wasn't sold last year. They obviously feel that with players like Zouma coming back from loan that they have enough cover

Oh okay, I see. No wonder he was not such of a bother to them. I have been really worried he was sent away at such a very small fee like he was no good. Anyways, they seem to be a full squad despite their transfer ban that didn't allow them buy much.
