The university
They said: the university was
A mansion where kings, queens,
Bow and serve you
A place you must attend
If you want to be successful
They said the rooms are cosy and comfortable
The orchard filled with rich and elegant fruit
Appealing and alluring to taste
But we find: their university is
As 'bodija dump,' with filty rags and rugs
Cataclysmic season and staccato of chaos
The sadist headmaster or
You call him the lecturer?.
With a festac cap and bloated belly
Hurrying about as tho he drank 'werepe'
The old lady with a'pron a matron
Her glass tilted on the bridge of her nose
'Chewing-pako' "hey you!"
'Spitting jankariwo' "met me in my office"!.
But we say: the university is
'Aluta continua', 'victoria acerta'!
We must struggle to survive
And our lifes we must live
And no mallam would term
We *lazy*
Thanks for stopping by, much love from me to you.

Hmm if i hear, the University to me is, another way to stress us, i hate anything about school.... Lol
It's so painful that our universities and education is deteriorating rapidly. Thumbs up, the poem is really lovely!!!
Yes we must struggle to survive;not with the latest name given to us "lazy Nigerian youths" laziness must definitely not be our forte.
The university can also be seen as life-moulding,shaping us for the outside world. I love school though.
