U.S., China trade battle could last into next year - MarketWatch
The U.S. and China were poised to slap levies on $34 billion of each other’s exports Friday, the first tangible shots in a trade battle both sides are preparing to keep fighting for months if not years longer.
China is expected to retaliate right way.
Mexico has slapped $3B worth of tariffs on US pork, cheese and steel. Europe has slapped $3.2B worth of tariffs on US bourbon, orange juice and motorcycles. Canada has slapped $12.6B worth of tariffs on US steel, condiments and whiskies.
