I'm no fan of commies. But I'm never afraid to give credit where credit s due. I've previously stated that China will rise not on its own merits but because of the sins it didn't commit. China has a one party rule and with one group permanently in power, there are no power struggles other than the struggles within the party. There is no Left Vs Right Democratic cancer and due to this Chinese government has incentive and capacity to plan long term. It's all centrally planned and has corruption and inefficiency all over the place. But at least there is something going on.

China is aiming for big things. If they do succeed, we'll have a cooler looking cyberpunk 1984. I genuinely hope other nations would do everything China is doing right and then give chance to freedom to reign supreme.

China benefits from not having democracy, and at the same time, its current president, really has a lot of influence in the communist party.

But some time democracy is misused by the government.

To be honest, I am not sure of the negative news from media about China is true. Some are propaganda, some might be true.
