Make Sure You Are Taking Care of the Followers and Supporters You Currently Have

Hi Friends!

I have recently done videos talking about how to grow your followership here on Steemit - but I wanted to make a really important distinction in this video.

One of the best ways to ultimately grow your following and support on the platform is to make sure you are taking care of your current community! The people who are currently supporting you - either with votes or regular engagement, are the MOST important people in your circle.

In this video I talk all about mindset and how important it is to adopt an approach of gratitude. I go over a couple different common mindsets I see on the platform, and how much a little dose of appreciation and gratitude could go a long way to helping those people have a better Steemit experience .

I also touch on a couple practical tips on how to show gratitude for your current supporters!

I hope you guys enjoyed this vlog and I just want to take this moment to make sure that all of YOU know how much I appreciate you! I am so grateful for every person who decides to follow me, and engage with my content. Love you guys.

XO, Lea

What an awesome post :) This is why Steemit loves you @coruscate . So grounded, so humble, so genuine. Its what makes you the most love Steemian and a such a pleasure to follow and watch :)

aww thanks for always making me smile with your comments! Seriously, you are one of the most uplifting and encouraging people I have ever met.

Ps... @kenmelendez... looks like we may have to "rock, paper, scissor" for the most loved Steemian in Toronto. LOL

Wait, I thought I was the most loved Steemian... ;) jk Lea is for sure. I've seen you @goldmatters in my friend's posts but haven't gotten to meet you. I'm Ken and I'm also part of the Steem Creators group with Lea, IJ, Larry, and Carly. See you around the platform :)

Great to meet you Ken! Love the Dtube shirt tour:) thanks for the comment !

Great idea! I've honestly loved the community spirit of Steem more than anything else. You really do get far more interesting, honest and indepth conversations here, and I've honestly felt like I've made some really great friends. Can't ever feel alone in Steemworld.

@aussieninja!!! I've missed you! <3

You make such a great point. There are so many great people and great little pockets of community, that if you spend time reaching out to others too - then yo can never really get too lonely here. :)

So, I don't want to make things weird, but I found out today that I'll have to go to Vancouver BC for a week sometime in the next couple of months... how does the SSS feel about special guests and/or celebrity cameos if I was able to drive on down?

OMG we would looooove that!! Please keep us posted when you head up this way. It would be so fun to meet you and we could definitely make some fun videos together! hehe

Gratitude definitely matters!

And sometimes I am grateful for the fact that I was here creating content when we had 7-cent Steem, and gee "making money" was just really not an issue at ALL... we just had to focus on building a social media following. Building community definitely matters... and that's really a people thing!

oooh 7 cent Steem! I feel like there aren't too many people that are still active on the platform that were here for those days. I saw .50 Steem at one point when I was pretty new - and I bought as much as I could afford. haha

Steemit is one of the best places I have ever run across online to build real community and connections with people. It's pretty cool to be part of it.

I personally try to reply every comment on my blog except the one who are begging for upvotes to show a kind gesture 😊

Such a great habit to get into!! It's really one of the best ways to get to know people better too. :)

Ps.. I don't reply to spammy comments either. I think most people just kind of ignore them. If it seems like someone who is honestly trying and doesn't understand some of the social norms yet - I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and will try to help them. You can usually tell those people apart pretty quickly though!

Yes we should help the newbies but not the professional beggers

Weirdly enough, it doesn't matter how great a blogger's content is, if people feel invisible, they will leave, because they will feel a little worthless that someone they like doesn't like them.

I could be wrong, but I think the 7 minutes of this video has more wisdom per minute than most videos.

Wisdom per minute is an actual science, by the way. :)

Wisdom per minute!!! I LOVE that! hahah

I think you make a great point - if people feel like the author is not really invested in their followers and is just kind of "posting and running", there's not a lot of incentive to stick around. Your right - it does kind of feel like a rejection!! Like someone you like doesn't like you back. That is a great way to put it.

"Your right - it does kind of feel like a rejection!!"

And yet, please don't forget you don't owe anybody anything. There might come a moment when your comments leap from 10 to 100 or even 1000, and if that ever happened, it's time for your fans, rather than yourself, to get out of the entitlement mindset.

I've been to a lot of plays and musicals, and sometimes I see a line round the block at the stage door, of fans waiting to get their programme signed, and I think, please let Benedict Cumberbatch go home and sleep. he just did 3 and a half hours of Hamlet, and he has to do it again tomorrow. He cannot possibly sign 200 autographs and take 200 selfies at 11pm in the evening. Have mercy on the man lol!

Hi Lea - really enjoyed listening to your post today - and you are 100% spot on. It's always useful to get a little reminder though that we can be more grateful, and I will pass this sentiment on in my travels on Steemit and discord today!....Best Wishes

I'm so glad you connected with this post @cryptocurator! A little extra dose of gratitude never hurts. I hope you had a fun day being extra grateful! :)

Remember to take care of me who have been following you! Just joking! Great attitude for sure! Mutual support is definitely important. Regardless of following or being a follower, we must support one another to grow! You are the great caretaker then! ;)

Thanks for the thoughtful response my friend! Here' a little love on your comment! hehe <3

Timely reminder to be even more grateful in as many different ways as possible. Thank you so much.

By the way, I'm really looking forward to joining you on air next week!

Blissful blessings and smiles

I'm glad you found this little vlog helpful! A little extra gratitude here and there never hurts!

We are SO excited to have you on the show next week! <3

You’ve done a great job giving back to those who follow you. Making your viewers feel engaged and important is really awesome and you are great at it. People need to understand that growing a followership takes time. Stay focused and just keep making unique content people!

aww thank you @mainos12345! I think you really nailed it on the head - a follwership is built one interaction at a time - and unique content is also a huge part of that!

I love to follow and support post like this that encourages positive vibes inside the platform and provide a lot of value. Looking forward to see more of your posts.

wow thank you for the great compliment @arnel!! I'm really glad to hear that you connect with my content. :)
