27 anni. Ecco quanto tempo è passato dal momento in cui ho sperato di vedere questo gruppo in un concerto dal vivo. Un'emozione unica che un mese fa' sono riuscito finalmente ad incoronare potendo viverla in prima persona all'ippodromo di Firenze, nonostante i Guns non siano gli stessi di un tempo.

Eh già, è brutto dirlo ma i Guns'n'Roses di adesso non sono certamente come quelli degli anni '80/'90, anni nei quali erano in piena attività e facevano continuamente tour in tutte le parti del mondo, arrivando ad ottenere un successo planetario. Dopo mille problemi: tra droghe, salute e conflitti personali si sono riuniti da qualche anno dopo vent'anni di inattività con questa formazione, quella storica. Ora sono un po' appesantiti ma abbastanza in forma per avere quasi 60 anni.

Slash non ha perso il suo tocco magico, anzi, invecchiando è migliorato padroneggiando per quanto possibile ancor meglio la sua Gibson, storica chitarra della quale è sempre stato un virtuoso, ora riesce ad esprimersi al massimo visto che da giovane era solito suonare in stati di alterazione percettiva.

Axl invece non è l'ombra della splendida voce dei tempi che furono, ma poco ci manca, alti e bassi durante il concerto al quale ho assistito, momenti di grinta ma con stecche eclatanti e perdita d'intensità vocale con il passare dei minuti. Tutto sommato niente male se si conta che è sparito dalla scena 10 anni e che ora accompagna dal vivo con i suoi acuti anche il più grande gruppo Hard Rock della terra, gli AC/DC, a causa di un problema ai timpani del cantante Brian Johnson che non gli permette per il momento, ma purtroppo forse per il resto della sua carriera, di suonare con loro nelle grandi Arene.

Godetevi dunque un video girato da me da qualche centinaio di metri di distanza con l'aiuto della mia Sony DSCHX90B che con il suo potentissimo Zoom da 30x ha reso il compito molto più gradevole. La canzone è un must per i fans della band.
