Isle of Steem: Immortalising Laura Lemons some more
There is much to say about the STEEM blockchain. It not only acts as a powerful, scalable public blockchain with fast transactions, but it is the only place on (in?) A blockchain where you can forge incredibly deep and meaningful relationships.
With an average of 60,000 users per day, we are still small, but with that comes a strong sense of community, altruism, and fondness for your fellow human being.
After @mattclarke joined the chain, and invited me to come along for the journey, I ended up meeting, by chance an interesting, honest, sometimes confronting, but always prolific steemian named Laura Lemons. Her posts are all there on her account @lauralemons.
You wont see another post from her, but take a moment to examine the beautiful cobwebs she's left on the platform.
They're forever immutable, and a glorious monument to who she was. If you didnt know Laura, I urge you to read on. If you did, consider this another way of remembering her one year own from the final moments of her life, which she took from this tiny Earth, and even tinier blockchain.
Last year, I ran an art contest in her memory. This year, I'll be including her in my Isle of Steem video game. Laura will finally have her role as a ghost of the blockchain. I will be including certain bits and pieces of her life into these elements, as she weaves a ghostly, morbid sense of humor through a graveyard surrounded by lemon trees and cats named after rodents.
I know that @chelsea88, @stitchybitch, @alexbeyman and @kaylinart all had a lot to do with Laura.
You guys will be included in this quest arc. As my Isle of Steem project grows in scope and scale, so too, will the cast of characters.
Tonight's stream will be the beginnings of writing this quest line, which will slot into the early campaign of the game.
Thus far: You'll be required to travel through a forest in order to progress to the next city, and along the way, you'll encounter a lemon tree baring your way. In order to progress, you'll need to solve a sort of puzzle regarding the tree before @stitchybitch allows you to chop down the tree to proceed.
As alluded to above, that quest will take you through a haunting array of Laura references, mixed with her terrific and morbid sense of humor. If anyone has suggestions for this quest, please feel free to join the stream and let me know :)

this is such a lovey thought to remember someone and keep their spirit alive on steem.
It's kind of surreal going through her old posts trying to find the right "voice" for her character. I'll get there in the end.

I miss interacting with Laura, and look forward to doing so again :)

this is kind of sad, im a newb over here so i dont know. much about her. but i guess She was an angel. maybe not, but a bright star, which will shine on steem.
its strange to see that her account has been raided from all the SP. i hope it is used well, raising awareness or something.
It was used for final expenses. There was never any doubt that it was used properly by the parties who had access.
we are not meant to understand the passing ones, and it hurts. its too sad that, they were never able to escape from their demons.
