Drawing is one of my passions, since I have memory I have drawn everything I see, but I am particularly fond of portraits, every look, every gesture, every line that crosses a face is an inspiration for me, I see stories in them and I like the idea of taking the moment to paper with my pencil and brush.
Recently I have begun to incursionar in the technique of the watercolor, I like the watery texture that has and the chiaroscuro that can be achieved when it is painted by layers, I feel that the possibilities of creation are infinite and even more when the techniques are mixed and it is that in the art only the lack of imagination is the limit.
This illustration is titled "Kayapo Indigenous" and is inspired by a photographic portrait of an indigenous person from the Kayapo community in the Amazon in Brazil. The beauty of the image, its color, the contrasts and the firm and serious gesture of the Indian encouraged me to take him to watercolor.
The process was very simple, but demanding and meticulous, I don't have the best set of watercolors so I worked on dry, without wetting the paper, this allowed me to have more control over the delicacy of the lines, this can be seen in the details of the face and the jewelry, however, it was necessary to moisten the area of the body a little so that in this way the paper would better absorb the paint and thus obtain the right skin tone.
Once the portrait was finished I decided to accompany it with a beautiful landscape of the tepuyes of the Guayana shield, for that occasion I decided to wet the paper and work with the technique of the gouache, in that way working layer by layer I approached to reach the tones that this landscape demanded.
I feel very happy with the final result because this is my first serious experience with the technique of watercolor.

Super!!! 👏👏👏 🎨🎉
