Nintendo Games Are Too Easy Now - DLive Case Study Exclusive
It was halfway through playing Super Mario 3D Land that I first died enough times to encounter the golden leaf. It was so inviting that I had to grab it. Suddenly I was invincible and the game was easier than it had ever been. Something was lost in the process. I no longer felt any sense of accomplish for finishing the level and refused to ever take one since. It was also the harkening of a new era in Nintendo games where difficulty would make way for universal completion. This video essay explores why Nintendo started this process and uses Yoshi's Wooly World as a case study example.

Oh yeah, lets take some of these modern Nintendo snowflakes and sit them down with Ghosts'n Goblins - and if OP power-ups weren't enough, all solutions to game puzzles are free on the internet. Remember when you had to figure it out yourself or find somebody who knew (or get the power-Nintendo power)?
But it's not all bad - Champion road and grand master galaxy were a good challenge in the recent Mario games!
LOL ya no kidding. Ghosts'n Goblins was one of the hardest games ever. The NES version I don't think I ever got past the first level. The SNES one I played so many times and spent months just being able to beat the first level.

Awesome video dude. and yeah, nintendo games today are easy.... what ever happened to the progressive difficulty that we saw in classics like metroid, star fox, rayman, even the first 3 mario games.... it is pointless receiving a badge when you basically do sweet FA to earn it.
