BUSINESS END OF ROOF-TOP SOLAR ARRAY!!!
Hi everyone, the weather is a little cooler so i am up on the roof getting ready to punch through skylight # 2. So i thought i would show everyone the business end of two of my four Array's, the other two are ground mounted. To the right you will see my wind turbine.... I would like to discourage anyone from trying this. I make about 300-500 watts during Winter storms, but with the solar i can make 3,500 Watts with my computer's governing my power down, so i don't cook my batteries.
You can see i am in the woods, and you really need to be on top of a hill with NO trees for the turbine to work. They say if you get wind ALL DAY then it will work, but why not just put in Solar and sit back and make electric all day....
I call this my hood ornament.....i just don't have the heart to take it down.......

woah sick post pointing at the many upvotes? Although i hope those trees don't block the sun facing the solar panels, and considering the geography it really is the best choice to keep the solar panels away from the ground as long as mud,animals, and trees don't harm or block them in any way it's all good.
The trees don't block the array's, being in the far North West close to the Canadian border. The sun is high in the sky, and then they shed there leaves in the fall when the sun drop's lower on the horizon.

How about using the Solar Power to run a small motor as a means to turn your Wind Generator...??? Does it really make a difference, what turns your Wind Generator...??? Does it really have to be Wind...???
