Jakarta - United States Dollar (US) continues to register strengthening. This morning alone, the US dollar has perched at Rp 14,027 which is the highest position since the beginning of the year.

From these conditions several sectors of the needs are directly affected by the strengthening of the dollar, such as the animal feed industry. Board of Patrons of Livestock Feeders Association (GPMT) Sudirman explained, 80% of the components of animal feed manufacture supplied from abroad.

"The animal feed industry is a component between 75-80% (import) .One of the best raw material examples is the soybean meal, which is from Argentina and Brazil imports, not only because of the rising dollar but also the international market also rising , so this has fallen hit the stairs, Tuesday (08/05/2018).
He explained that the industry was affected twice, after US $ rose to Rp 14,000 then raw material prices in the market also rose. He said, animal feed could terpangaruh because of fluctuations in international commodity prices and fluctuations in curency US $. Sudirman said both of these conditions are experiencing bad conditions with a value that continues to soar.
"It's two ugly again so high, so you can imagine at the beginning of January, the dollar is still Rp 13,300 now Rp 14.000 it means it has gone up Rp 700 so compared to January until now .. There is a considerable depreciation of rupiah amounting to Rp 700 silver it means there is increase in feed costs in 75% × 700 that if we compare from januari until now, "he said.
Sudirman specifies that 80% of imported components for making livestock include the soybean bouquets imported from Argentina and Brazil, bone meal and meat imported directly from Newzeland, Australia and America. Corn oil from America and vitamins imported directly from China and Australia.
