Finally a bit of relief today in Seattle from the summer heat. When I got up this morning it was 64 degrees and overcast, just as people think it always is in the Pacific Northwest. This is the type of weather that I enjoy most, so I had to get out and take advantage of it. We brought the dog out for a hike and some exercise. A little bit of mist on our journey but no measurable rain. Still, we have rain on the forecast for today and I really hope we get it. The grass and plants need it and I need it as a reminder that this dry hot summer isn't forever. Anyway, being out and about early makes me a little late with today's list, but better late than never.

Here's today's top 10 highest priced domain sales that have been reported or recorded from yesterday. This list is compiled from data provided by namebio.com

Domains with History

Number 1 on today's list (kruegergroup.com) has some history but nothing I could find recorded on Namebio. However Raymond Hackney did a brief post today (https://www.thedomains.com/2018/08/11/did-the-net-holder-just-pay-20000-to-get-the-com/) detailing some info about this name. Apparently, it's been bought and sold a few times as well as expired and picked up again. In his post, Raymond speculated that the owner of the .net may have been the buyer, but as it's a bit later in the day I can see that the name is already resolving to Remax real estate agent.

Number 5 on the list (ibanks.com) has a recorded sales history. The name sold for $38,000 dollars back on April 3rd, 2008 as Sedo. That makes yesterday's sale a huge drop from it's previous sale price, a drop of $33,450. If I had to guess, the buyer from 2008 probably let the name expire and it was picked up at GoDaddy for cheap. Names with sales history like this can look very good to a new investor. Seeing that the name previously sold for 5 figures makes it a little easier to take a risk of only a few thousand dollars.

Number 8 on the list (burnbook.com) sold previously at GoDaddy. It sold back on June 10th, 2013 for $472 dollars. That makes this a nice profit for the seller of $2,528 over 5 years.

Finally, number 9 on the list (redconnect.com) has a recorded sales history. The domain sold at Namejet on August 13th, 2016 for $660 dollars. That's a nice gain of $1,890 in only 2 years.

About the Names

Today's list breaks down to 8 .com domains and 2 .net domains. Again a few 4 letter (LLLL) .com domains on the list. Both of them with a nice pattern that perhaps went to Chinese investors despite one of them having 2 vowels in it. My favorite name on the list is actually api.net even though I don't invest in .net domains, you can't deny the value in a 3 letter domain and those 3 letters have great meaning in the tech world.

Well, that concludes this top 10 reported domain sales list.
