I am using already 10 years sony walkman so far the best mp3 player.
My gear sony walkman, beyerdynamics dt990 and home made amp in the the altoids can :)

I used to have the usb type of mp3 players when i was younger. But nowadays i just use my phone as mp3 player. I don't see any more need to get a second device.
