What is your main reason for still being active on the Steem blockchain?
The value of STEEM coins are really low these days, and we have many fewer active accounts compared to when the value of STEEM was much higher. So instead of asking why these people have left, let me rather ask you why you are still here.
This post is a poll posted at dpoll.xyz, so those of you who see this post from my feed will need to head over to that website to cast your vote.
I tried to include most of the common reasons I could think of below, so please let me know why you are still active here on the Steem blockchain.
- To accumulate coins when the markets are down
- Staying for the community
- To be able to post what you like without the fear of a centralized organ shutting down your blog
- Just don't have anywhere else to go with my blog
- Want to get paid a small amount for your content, instead of none at all
- The different DApps are fun to use (Steem Monsters, dPoll, Musing, dLike etc.)
- The belief in the technology behind a blockchain-based social arena
- Other / multiple reasons (please elaborate)

Great idea with the poll
NB - I clicked on a vote option, put a fairly lengthy comment in the dialogue box which sprung up then clicked submit only to be taken to steem connect then back to the vote options with my comment gone.
Is it possible to correct this so we're taken via steemconnect first? Or somehow change it so we login in first so our comments don't disappear?

In my opinion. steemit is not only a reward collecting platform. It also helps to increase our socializing with the people all around the world. man is a social animal and socializing is the need of every animal. steemit is a great platform for socializing. The other positive from the low value of steem is that it gives an opportunity to collect many coins. It will not increase the reserve of your wallet but it will create a positive impact on the people who are FUD due to bloodbath in crypto market:)
Yep, you are right about that. Steem is so much more than just a reward collecting platform, and it's great to be able to be social and get paid for it at the same time.
I am missing the option "Because I am a full-time Steemian who has to steem no matter what" :D Just kidding. Thanks for organizing this poll my friend, I am excited to see the results.
Hehe, I think there are way too few of you to make it a real option in the poll :P A lot of the full time Steem bloggers have probably thrown in the towel by this point..
I am afraid you are right... The bear market has been way too long already. Tough times for anyone who rely on Steemit heavily.

Man, it's almost all the reasons haha :D The belief in the technology behind a blockchain-based social arena implies the To accumulate coins when the markets are down. So those are two main for me. dApps not really....I enjoy Steemmonsters A LOT but I think prices of cards will fall down with the time..But it deffo is fun.
It's very interesting that you didn't give out an option of I just enjoy blogging. Is everything here really only concerned about profit haha? :D I'd probably keep posting for free as well, not daily tho...But yeah, that should defiinitely be in the options ;)
I would probably keep blogging even if the price of Steem reaches zero, but not if the entire community abandons it. So while I also enjoy the blogging here, the great community has a lot to do with that.
I think you have good reasons to be here, and I'm sure that those who stay active during this bear market will be handsomely rewarded if we hold onto our coins for a good while ;)

I like steemit... it help me a lot ... so I not walk away here I want it will grow and if it must take time then we must give it for this time. I'm trying to be patient because good things will not come fast.

Just looking at content I enjoy; does that count as active?
I guess it does. People often like to think of Steem as a place for authors or publishers, but they/we are nothing without actual readers of the content.
