The bow - step by step

in #drawing6 years ago

At least ! I was able to finish a drawing yesterday, after lots of very busy days...

Yes, that's Lijdel - but not far in the forest this time ! And not in a friendly mood either !

The start is maybe the most difficult, in fact, especially with such posing, with foreshortening.

And in fact, I had to struggle with the size of the hand, and after that with the body compared to the head. But I think I got something not too much bad at the end !

Why some days you can't get what you want, and you make mistakes at each step ? I don't know, but it was one of these days, with the ink ! I had to cheat a little bit to hide some bad moves, and it's not the part I'm the most proud of this time !

So let's go to the color instead ! I begin by a green-blue mood, because it's still on the morning into the story. And the goal will be to go from more green on the left of the drawing (where the light comes from), to more blue on the right.

And after the shadowing details, that's it finally ! See you soon for the new chapter of the story !

This is excellent @djacbaweur! You're just the kind of artist I'm looking for for a project.

Here's the summary:

I’m hoping to find artists willing to work on a collaborative project in exchange for Steem. What that looks like exactly is up for discussion.

I’m hoping to put together a visual encyclopedia for my upcoming novel as a companion. What this would entail is doing any number of pieces based on specific commission or a number of writings I’ve released so far, to help establish a visual basis for the world I’m creating.

The pieces would then be hosted on http://incorruptiblebook.com/

Know that I cannot pay by traditional means. The options available to you are either negotiating exclusive right to post, taking a % cut of anything I post that uses your work, or working for free/exposure. I understand if you would prefer to decline.

Hello, thanks a lot for your offer, I'm very honored !
What I would like to know is the kind of pictures you would need, as : characters, landscape, towns... ? Depending on the topic, it can take more or less time, so it can be more ore less difficult for me to find enough time.
Would you have more details, or example, to give me of what you imagine ?

There's nothing really I need, so you're free to do whatever you feel like. If a character in one of my short stories stands out to you, draw them. If you have a specific mental image of a setting or detail, draw that. I want to let your creativity free!

This is the beauty of art. If you do something wrong, you can correct it. If you don't succeed, it doesn't matter as it's your artwork and it's up to you to decide how it will look like.

I like the progress photo and the final result is very nice. Thank you for sharing!

Oh, yes, it matters if I don't succeed to do what I want to do, it annoys me a lot ! :D
Thank you for your comment!

Lovely drawing, Djac :D. I really like the subtle colouring of the tree, and how the colours shifted from light yellow to darker purple from the left to the right, giving emphasis on the character who is standing on the left side of the picture.

The pose is quite challenging but I believe you managed to do it well. Nice works ^_^.

Thank you @scrawly ! In fact it could be even more spectacular about the shifting of colors, I'm still a little bit shy to dare to go on frankly with crazy colors ! And I know it can be done with watercolors !

Wonderful! Nice work!!
Her eyes are strong and beautiful!
And I like the beauty of the background forest😀
