I recently had an acquaintance go through a mental breakdown

We're pretty sure it was a full blown schizophrenic episode. I spent a little time with him during, and some of the things he described were fascinating. He couldn't differentiate between reality and delusion, so his thoughts would run away from him, and someone would have to tell him if it was real or not. "forget" became is mantra.

"rising up" is a phrase I have heard before from schizophrenics describing the beginnings of an episode. I guess it just rises up out of you, from some dark place.
