My Dream Vacation Destination is Manjuyod Sandbar, aka the Maldives of the Philippines

in #dreamtravel6 years ago

Since I am destined to go home for good in a few days, (I am currently working here in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) to visit what we called the Maldives in the Philippines is in the top of my bucket list.

Why I choose Manjuyod Sandbar?

First of all it is located just adjacent to my wife’s home place. And going there would be a once in a lifetime experience for the whole family as it would be my kid’s first time to go there after and be able to meet and reunited with their relatives (mother’s side).

Secondly, if you are a Filipino who haven’t been there or a foreigner who wants to explore the beauty of the Philippines, Manjuyod Sandbar is the best place to go. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Philippines with absolutely long stretch of a sandbar.

Being dubbed as the Maldives of the Philippines, Manjuyod Sandbar is indeed has the Maldives ambiance which is absolutely affordable, especially when you live in Negros. Although it would be a little bit expensive when you are coming from a different place in the Philippines especially Manila but what is important there is that whatever expenses one will incur, Manjuyod Sandbar is more than worth it!

So in case somebody here wants to visit Manjuyod Sandbar also, here’s how they can get there.

If you’re from Manila or some other parts of the Philippines other than Negros itself, you may take a flight to Dumaguete City. Then from Dumaguete you have to travel by land to Bais City for about 1 hour. Bus usually departs every 15 minutes. And then from Bais City you have to proceed to Capinahan Wharf via tricyle for about 15 minutes.

There are other ways to get there but the one I mentioned above is the easiest and more convenient way to be in Manjuyod Sandbar.

Here are some tips you should consider when going to Manjuyod Sandbar:

🐳In order to experience the beauty of the sandbar, you have to go there early in the morning.

🐳It is recommended to check the low-high tide forecast before going there. The best time to go there is of course during low tide which usually happen at dawn or early in the morning up to around 10 am.

🐳There are no restaurants in the island so it’s better to bring your own food. Although you can buy delicious food like lechon in Bais City before heading to the area.

🐳You should not expect a pure white sandbar, but it is guaranteed that the water is really blue

🐳Do not forget to bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses to protect you from the heat of the sun.

What you can do there:

🐳 Boat Tour which includes Dolphin watching and Mangrove Forest
🐳You can also try the wild delicious oyster usually sold by locals in the vicinity.
🐳Swimming and enjoy the clear blue water.
🐳Snorkeling at the Coral Garden
🐳And most of all, you can take pictures of the beautiful surroundings.

So there you go ladies and gentlemen, this is where I want to spend a quality time with my family soon and I’m sure a lot of Seemians will also consider Manjuyod Sandbar as their dream vacation destination.

@long888, wow, the water is really clear. i lived in the Philippines many years but never got to experience the beaches. We were more in the jungle.

Oh where in the Philippines exactly? May I know your nationality?

I hope you can look it up for me. I was too young too remember. It was a refugee camp for Vietnamese people. I was there in the 1980s.

I think that refugee camp was in Bataan Province. It saddened me to know the way you were able to come to Philippines I'm sure it was hard for you and your family.

Anyway that was long time ago, things happened for a reason and I hope everything is ok with you and the rest of your family at the moment.

If you have time, come visit Philippines again, this time not as a refugee but as tourist, I'm sure you will enjoy your stay and treasure the moment.

God bless!

Yes, I think it was Bataan! And then something about Galang? Does that ring a bell. I definitely enjoyed my time there nevertheless. That was the first time that I heard "Balut Balut!" from the lady who went around selling them.

I searched and I saw Galang Island in Indonesia maybe you passed by there or stayed there for sometime.

Gosh, sooo pretty!

Oh I could dream about it all day without getting bored by dreaming ... but unfortunately I know this dream is not going to be reality. If I consider this as my dreamvacation? That I'm not sure of ... there are so many places in the world where I would love to go to ...

No need to go there now just consider it as one of your dream vacations hehe. Who knows someday, right?

Oh wow. Haha you're going to be here in PH for good? You won't work there anymore?

Hayayay ang ganda tlga s Pinas. 😅 Wag n lng kaya ako magtravel outside Pinas. Hahaha.

Before going to Maldives, I would want to go here first :D Maldives has been one of my dream places to travel as well.

I just hope we start not referencing our own place to other places and just stick with the local name of it. I see the importance of it though to catch the attention of others as to why we are comparing it to other places. Each place has its own uniqueness and we should learn to appreciate it :)

I agree with you maybe little by little we can do that and Filipinos should be united in that cause if not then we can never be able to promote our very own without referencing it to other places and maybe were not yet ready to stand on our own even if we have somethimg to be proud of.
