I think I get it. You are putting the suggestion out there that an example of how to "fabricate" something, is easily explained by looking at the news, without the need to spell it out? The black and white photos add an appropriate atmosphere to the subject matter.
Yeah, I think I hear it in a comedy routine once and it rings true for me place two images together and just ask how about this... People will fill in the rest and if the images are based on stereotypes so much simpler to have people believe what you want without ever needing the facts or just as a means to influence the facts even.
