🌿DrugWars🔫 Update! #5 - Invisible Wars!

Hi everyone! Quite some changes since my last update. And also some revealing data from scriptable actions being used with 🌿DrugWars🔫.

You might want to check yesterday post by @drugwars about "Drugwars - No Time for the Weak (nor the bots)". And the dilemma of bots around these kind of games over the post, "How much automation is on Drugwars with scripts and bots?"

Also have a look under the HELP, as many of the questions you have, might be already explained there.

In a nutshell, what changed?

The main changes are around battles and the logic being implemented around it, to promote strategy and reduce the predictable situations that can be exploited with bots.

Basically, at some point, when a player was known not to play everyday, it would turn into a farm stash constantly being attacked by bots/users, reducing the interest of other players to play the game.

You can't see players anymore!

It might be something momentarily until new features get deployed, but for now, you can't click anymore on the player and see their troops and resources. The only thing you will be able to see and only if you attach them, is if they current are with or without a shield.

What if the attack succeeds?

Well, it means they have no shield but because you don't know their troops and resources yet, you will have to play strategically. Like sending a "Rowdy" to die and then because you get a report of the battle, you will be able to access the situation.

Although because (currently) you will activate the shield, you need to wait some time before being able to attack again. I am not sure how long is the shield lasting right now, and although on the help it says 1 hour, I was able to attack sooner than that.

This also means you will get a lot more attacks, from people trying to "scan" you. This reminds me the time of OGame, where you had probes, and if the level of your probes was higher than the target being scanned, you would not be discovered, get a report and NO battle would happen. Otherwise a normal battle would take place. Maybe @DrugWars could salvage some ideas from this method.

As an example, check what @sooflauschig sent to scan me... =)

Another interesting idea is that it might now make sense to "Bluff!" if no one can actually "see" your troops without sending an unit to get a report. Which could turn quite amazing if you want to influence STEEM regular people... I have made a rough example bellow... compare the differences!

The "Find Targets" tab

You might have or might have not noticed that this tab now exposes a completely different set of players you can attack. But if you can't see what they have, how do you plan which one to attack? I am guessing this is currently as it is because of mid-flight changes of the latest changes to the shield rules... which look like being worked out. Currently its quite hard to rely on that list... so, either roll the dice and hope for it, or fight only targets you have already some intelligence about.

To complement my comments check the example above, where clearly not all targets have the same drug production as me.
