Pretty sure DRUGWARS reward mechanic is NOT sustainable.

in #drugwars5 years ago

Ive been looking at this new game on the blockchain @anouk.nox introduced me to. (sneakily slipped in a referral hehe)

DRUGWARS.

It basically looks like the old Facebook Mafia wars game. Thats fine. I liked that game. It had a decent enough progression for a browser game.
The DRUGWARS aesthetic isnt as appealing but its still in its early access period.

Anyways.. Was looking at the game a bit trying to figure the reward mechanic that has been advertised. For the love of me i cant figure out how investing money in this game is a smart move.

Basically..... The reward mechanic works like this.
On the right side of the screen theres a DAILY REWARD pool of sorts that pays out the daily prize to all players depending on their drug production...
The daily reward pool is filled up from players spending money in the game. Heres a explanation from the dev.

How in the world is that sustainable? Since the game is free to play, the more players that start playing and building up drug production the more they reduce your ROI. You need to keep pumping in more and more STEEM to maintain your daily drug production % and get a return while the dev takes 20% of the funds.
Players put in, lets say, a 100 STEEM and they are basically paid 8% daily of 80 STEEM until it runs out unless someone else buys more stuff ingame.

What else is interesting is that you can steal drugs from other players. Meaning that the dev takes your 20% and leaves you to fight over ingame resources so you can build up your drug production to grab that forever reducing % of the total reward pool.

Let me know what you think about this game. Am i wrong about this? Kind of smells pyramidy.

Keep on Steeming.

Lets see how it goes, there'll be a lot issues because its still in the development phase but it'll unravel as time goes on

Sure. There are a few ways to look at this. As a game and as an investment. My fear is that people will see it as an investment similar to Steem monsters. They would be wrong. This is another beast completely.

Highly rEsteemed!

I think it's terrible Frankly!

Wow you are fast making a post! I have quit trying to figure out how the rest works for now as it's too slow for me atm. So people are stealing my drugs (hehe that sounds badass like I'm a dealer lol). Maybe you're right, I can't tell yet, I know I was late to the SM party, so decided to take @soyrosa's advice using her ref link and see what happens :)

I was planning on seeing where it goes the next days before writing a post about it. Ps you can find your own ref link in there too! :-)

I'm always happy when other people do the numbers, I'm not good at them! It's super beta still so we'll find out how everything works out - I know some are analyzing the ROI already for both investors and for those who don't invest at all :-) Cheers!

Hehe. We shall see. Ill hold out on the ref link until i see more folks talking about this.

Yeah I've seen it in my auto votes today also.. we'll see keep us posted :-) lol
