The Eastern cultural being sucrense sings and daily life

It is a pleasure for me, once again, to make reference in this area to DSOUND of one of the Sucrese Oriental Jungles that represents a true icon of our Venezuelan identity; "Sing and Dance Joropo". This Joropo Oriental Sucrense or JOSU was composed by Hernán Marín who to date has become, together with María Rodríguez, the most genuine representatives who have cultivated this musical genre throughout their artistic careers.

In my personal opinion, Canta y Baila Joropo represents the soul of the oriental sucrense being and is the living stamp of the most elaborated of our traditional-popular music: the Joropo and Chorus. This form is one of the variants of the Oriental Joropo Sucrense (JOSU) and refers to a type of traditional-popular manifestation, specifically of music and dance, whose human and sound wealth is of an extraordinary heritage value. This manifestation, today, has a high cultural content and constitutes a fundamental expression of local-regional-national identity, forming part of the musical repertoire that is performed, interpreted and danced in Sucre State, in the localities of Cumaná, Cumanacoa and Cariaco.

Sing and dance joropo was composed by Hernán Marín in the year 1978 and was recorded in that same year by the Recording Company VELVET. This joropo is part of the album titled "Hernán Marín is folklore: authentic Venezuelan folklore" Volume 1. This musical work was done in the recording studios of the old company SONO DOS MIL in the city of Caracas and the musicians who participated in it were : Pedro Andrades (Papillo) in the Mandolina; Hernán Marín himself in the Cuatro and, of course, the Voice; Luís (Guicho) Gonzáles on Contrabass and Antonio José Peinado (Chichón) at Maracas. The recording and musical mastering was done by Alejandro Cornejo and Ricardo Landaeta.

Sing and Dance Joropo expresses a whole inseparable world of life and takes shape in this musical interpretation and performance expressing itself, ingeniously, in this form-content of this popular culture as Hernán Marín is. Today, Canta y Bala Joropo continues to resonate, through its cadence and rhythm ... resonating and vibrating in the happy bodies of the dancers and dancers. This musical gem, today, remains a source of narrative identity that characterizes the Venezuelan cultural being.
