There is no place like home.. That is my sentiments for my beloved country, Malaysia. My heart goes out to all fellow Malaysians who stood for hours, walked in rain and sunshine, came in wheelchairs and much more to make the Malaysian dream come true on the 9th of May 2018. I witnessed the spirit of brotherhood, all coming together for one purpose for a new era and awakening of justice.

Never have I felt so close to my fellow citizens where.. . No barriers of race, ethnic, culture, colour was felt. Only a common goal for a brighter future especially for the younger generation. Hoping to thrive on the right principles and shine again for the right reasons.

Polka

Now it's time for a change. But the change might take some time..with small steps. It's like dancing the polka. The term polka comes from the Czech word 'polka' (half). referring to the short half-steps featured in the dance. We will have to take a lot of these short half steps to make a big change in the future. But I guess short half steps in the right direction is better than big steps in the wrong direction. So let's do the polka and move forward in small steps but with hope and certainty of a better future for us and for our children. I would also like to say that in these couple of days during this election I actually felt a sense of belonging, a sense of camaraderie, a sense of safety, and I actually knew what it means to be a proud Malaysian!!

So I would like to dedicate this piece to all future leaders of our country. It's a piece of music that I recorded for the italent contest. A piece written in the style of a polka by F. Tarrega called Rosita. Let's all do the Polka!! (in the right direction of course) :)
