Why Your Imagination Can Go Both Ways + How We Can Program Our Brains For Success (Podcast)

in #dsound6 years ago (edited)

In this podcast, I spoke upon the actual article I have written on [Why Your Imagination Can Go Both Ways](https://steemit.com/psychology/@jassicania/why-your-imagination-can-go-both-ways) and I also touched about inspirational inventors who have great imaginations. I also shared about how we can program our brains for success by thinking bigger, practising "mentally" by constantly thinking bigger about our goals and dreams - making this becoming a habit embedded into the a subconscious and a BELIEF, and starting a new thought pattern.

How We Can Program Our Brains For Success

Think Bigger

Set your intention about your goals, and make that intention big.

Think about it everyday, imagine a bigger, larger scenario. Over time as you keep thinking about it, you are literally expanding your brain structure to be able to accommodate a bigger dream, and when that happens, it becomes much more attainable.

Practise makes Perfect

Practise rewires the brain.

We all already know that physically practising something definitely engrains it into our brains.

In the context of thinking bigger about your goals, you’re conditioning your brain to think bigger, expanding your possibilities for bigger success. Make thinking bigger, your ability to achieve bigger goals become your belief. Make it become a habit.

A belief is a thought you keep thinking. At first, it is just an ordinary thought. And then you keep thinking it, and you keep thinking it, and then one day you actually begin to believe in it. That’s how that same thought you keep thinking about actually becomes a belief!

Start A New Thought

Rather than “undoing” old ways of thinking, wrestling with it, fighting with what you believe, adopt a new way of thinking, being, and doing.

New neural pathways are created in your brain as you keep going over something over and and over in your brain. The more you do it, the more entrenched it becomes. That is the reason why old habits are hard to kick, as the existing neural pathways are very deeply engrained in the brain. So rather than trying to “kick” the old habit, start a new one.

Do a 21 days of choosing a different thought when a negative one come up, read a new inspirational book, create a list of why you can do what you do, start a gratitude journal for who you are, and how you have come far.

The more we train our minds to think positive, the better we are setting ourselves up for success and achieve big in life in whatever we want. How cool is that.
