SHOWNOTES

Hi, welcome to Day 5 of my DSound Experiment, and here are the highlights of the podcasts, along with the resource.

On the experiment front, I talked briefly about how you need to create cover arts and feature images that would suit both platforms - Steemit and DSound. You see, while Steemit usually features a rectangular featured image, DSound's default is square. What this means is some key info may be cropped out, if you don't put it strategically.

I've created a template which I used to create my cover art, and you can download it here. It's in Adobe Illustrator CS6.

But if you cannot open the file because you don't have the software, basically here's the how it should look like:

Ok, on to the actual content of the today's podcast, it's basically about a conversation I had with my 10-year old son, William, about Grab acquiring the South East Asia operations of Uber. You can read about it here.

Some of the questions asked and answered (to the best of my ability are):

  • Why would Grab want to buy over Uber's SEA Operations?
  • What's stopping Uber from creating a new company?
  • Can someone build a company that Grab may want to buy?

I'll br frank, I was stumped on some of the questions, mainly because I need to explain to him without using introducing foreign terms that would confuse him more. Sure, I can go on to explain the terms for him, but that does not serve the purpose of answering his original question.

Teaching kids is never as easy as teaching adults, but it trains me to breakdown my lesson into smaller bits that he can understand better. But heck, I come to realised even with some adults, I had to go to the same level of explanation as well.

The question of the day: What are some questions that you would avoid answering your kids (other than the "where do I come from" question)?

Enjoy the podcast, and don't forget to leave your comments below. I welcome your feedback on how I can improve the show, maybe it be in the content or delivery aspect.

Stay awesome!

For the longest time, I've always been only writing, and because of that, as far as Steemit Bootcamps and Masterclasses are concerned, I can only teach what I know.

So starting Monday, 7th May, I decided to for 21 days, I will work with podcasts and DSound, so I can get familiar with the process , the challenges, the equipments, and hopefully be able to break down the process so others can follow it too.

Stay tuned for a grand compilation post of the best of the best, at the end of this experiment.

And of course, stay awesome!

Mini Motivation is my own daily strategy to inspire myself. Mostly 3-minute reads, and now, podcasts!

From Motivation, we gain Inspiration. From Inspiration, we achieve Momentum. And the rest, they say, is history.

Hope it helps nudge you a bit too in the right direction.

Oh it did? Let me know in the comments, and of course an upvote would be a nice motivation for me. :)

Stay awesome!

Wait, why's Mav posting on Steemit nowadays?

Well, unlike other blogging and social media platform, Steemit is the only platform that allows me to earn cryptocurrency when I engage with it. Yup, one Steem is about USD5, and you, too, can earn Steem Dollars every time you:

  • Create content (articles, blog posts, podcasts, videos, photos)
  • Upvote (like) other people contents
  • Comment on other people's posts
  • Have discussions, share opinions etc!

Yup, basically it's the very same thing you're doing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc all along!

The only difference? For once you can earn a nice income on the side!

Sign up for a free Steemit account, and you can thank me by coming back and upvoting this article. And guess what, you will earn Steem too for doing that! #awesome

I have heard that Uber has been acquired by Grab in SouthWest Asia. This is interesting since in our country both Uber and Careem extending their business.

Wow! Didn't realize you start recording on Dsound. Thanks for the cover art for AI. Yeah, less discount since no competitor after they monopolize by Grab.
