Bach-Boysen, Markuspassion I-01 (Live and unedited)
This is the opening choir from the completition of Bach's Markus Passion by Jorn Boysen. This particular section of the Passion was already described by Bach, and was lifted from previous works of his. This 1st piece in the Passion uses the complete forces of the orchestra and choir. For reference, this performance has single strings (one to a part) and the choir was composed of 8 people!
The performers are Musica Poetica (@musicapoetica) and Cantus Thuringia under the direction of Jorn Boysen. The concert was recorded live and unedited in Den Haag in 2016, on period instruments at 415Hz.
