THE VILLAGER'S FAIR
The oldest surviving fair with Medieval origins is in the Sherwood Forest.
It is believed that the name comes from the droving of Geese to the market by traders and it became known as the 'Goose fair'.
The first reference appeared in a charter dating from 1284.
