Beyond the Coinstar machine Plunder Log#7 for May 2019

Bilge Rats, no silver found in this Month’s Vending machine plundering. Other than the Customers I have observed other landlubbers inspecting the Compass Machine output tray where the receipt or change is issued. The Transit system Maintenance people in their green uniforms regularly check them as do a few well-known Pan Handlers, Pop can Binners, and one particular old Asian lass. This time the big score was one of the Station’s Beverage machines.

Bust me barnacles, $4.45 at the push of a button! And an Interesting find too.

2015 2 Dollars Remembrance Commemorative of the 100th Anniversary of “In Flanders Fields” Poem. A pretty big deal in Canadian history with this coin being the 2015 Interpretation along with many other Canadian coins minted before and after this one including numismatic varieties. Mintage of 5,000,000 Coins.

To collect the entire theme may be quite involved and one would seriously get the impression that we treat our own Canadian war veterans, active servicemen and reserves with the utmost solemn reverence and funding. But In truth, not quite, when you talk particularly to the Vets about their inadequate retirement and health care, then the reservists about antiquated equipment and the list it goes on. I think our politicians rather glow and rest in the safety of past glories and not really stand for anything “on guard for thee” than for the present. I don’t think the vague values our Prime Minister of Drama Justin Trudeau espouse are the ones our grandfathers gave their blood, sweat, tears and lives for.

Nice score as usual! That $2 coin is pretty sweet looking Kerris.

A lucky month but still no Silver yet! My younger kid wants to keep it for his collection of $1 and $2 commemorative coins. Meanwhile the RCM currently has 20 overpriced Remembrance and Veteran's related numismatic coins in their mint.ca site for this year.

These 1967 Bunnys are rarely seen in circulation and upon closer inspection have very light wear at all which could mean someone may have been recently putting them into circulation so I guess it may be an Easter stunt. Keeping this one.

Bunny nickel?

He he...I think I got that phrase from the Captain Crabby character watching Spongebob with my kids when they were much younger. "Bust me Barnacles"

Spongebob Squarepants is priceless!!

I love when you do these Pirate Shares with us @kerrislravenhill...................

I may not find any Silver but make some nice pocket change a bit at a time, I may not be able to afford a sailing ship with what I found but I can afford a Silver Maple Leaf with what I have so far.
Maybe Next: Checking between the cushions of Old vintage furniture in Antique furniture shops.

Now that's a great Idea
