Hello my Steemian Friends! We’re taking an adventure today!

To Marco Island!

Marco Island is such a beautiful Island in Southwest Florida. We love morning walks on the island and in the off season when the tourists are few….it is glorious.

Today, we’ll share our walk, finding surprises which you will see! Fossils, Plant and sealife alike!
We encountered the Horseshoe Crab! This crab has existed over 300 million years!

We also found Pen Shells, so aptly named because the pointy end resembles a pen! This fan shaped shell is one of the largest bi-valve shells in the world! It can reach up to 10” in length.

Fossilized Mollusks, Whelk egg cases…so many things to see today!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll enjoy!

And as always blessings to you all

That crab looks spikey and menacing!! I loved the walk with you and Mr Bird. The video took a while to upload for some reason and I almost gave up trying to watch it - then it started and the music came on and I jumped bc I wasn't expecting it. lol.

lol thanks for watching! It was fun, my first "video collage" The horseshoe crab was a surprise to find and the shell looks like a fortress. Glad you were able to see it.

That looked like one really hot day on the beach! And so many treasures to find :)
Florida really is gifted with some amazing landscapes. Thanks for bringing us along on your journey.

Glad you enjoyed it. As you know every visit to the shore brings multiple surprises. I am constantly amazed. Thanks for watching!

What a fun post! We just spent a few days in Monterey, CA with my parents and the kids had so much fun searching for shells, urchins, anemones and crabs! However the ocean here is much colder than in Florida! Thanks for sharing your beautiful discoveries!

Thanks for watching! My first "video collage"...lot to learn. We have spent a lot of time in California and the one thing which drew us to Florida was the water was warmer. lol Definitely much different, but both are beautiful. Every time we walk the beach we find something new, changes each day. So fun, I bet you all had so much fun searching the beaches. Monterey is certainly beautiful. (Did you take more fun pictures? Loved the one you shared!)
