The Navy Seals Safely Rescued 13 Persons in Horrifying Situation

Trapped Miles below the Surface

Just recently, Thai soccer team was trapped in a cave that is 5km deep from the surface. They were 13 people trapped in there composing of 12 boys (11 - 16 years of age) with their assistant coach who is 25 years old. They were trapped for more than 2 weeks without any food and maybe they drink the cave's water for their survival. Most of them don't know how to swim or doesn't have any experience in swimming. The world is watching upon the progreaa of this horrifying event in Thailand.

The Cave

There are parts of the cave that were flooded with water due to monsoon rain and it is impossible for the boys to cross over it without a gear since the water is so deep. The boys were trapped 5 km away from the cave's entrance and there were parts of the caves that was so narrow that only one person at a time to pass through it and mind you there is water mostly in that passage. It is feared that when the monsoon rain will continue to pour heavily and the water level inside the cave will rise to result in declining the oxygen level in it and carbon dioxide may increase that will harm the lives who were trapped inside. It is really impossible for them to come out alive without any gears and help from the rescuers.

The Rescue Attempts

The rescuers composed of Thai Elite Navy Seals who were extensively trained for the task with a complete gear needed for the rescue. It took for them more than 5 hours just to reach the location of boys inside due to some obstacles in their path such as water and the narrow passages along the way. It will be more difficult if the monsoon rain will continue to pour heavily and this will slow the progress of their rescue operation and will take more than 11 hours to reach those boys. The team outside continuously pumping the water from the cave so that its level will drop and somehow helps the rescuer to maneuver more easily.

The Turn of Events

Last Sunday, four boys were successfully retrieved from the cave safely and they were rushed to the waiting medical team just outside the cave for first aid treatment and soon they brought to the hospital for further medication and recovery. And in the next day, there were an additional four boys that were rescued safely and soon all the 12 boys were brought out from the cave safely by those heroic Navy Seals. From a horrific scene to the glorious day of successful retrieval. Surely there was a celebration in all of Thailand for the successful retrieval of 13 souls that were trapped inside the cave.

The Heroic Act

One of the ex-Navy Seals was lost his life during the rescue operation. He sacrifices his life to save others in need and this heroic act should be given due respect and honor. I assume that he is a family man with children depending on him, the government should step on this to give his family some incentives as a token of his bravery and heroic act. The government at least grant his children with full scholarship program until they graduated and the family should be given assistance for their daily living. And for those who bravely risk their lives to rescue those trapped souls in the cave should be given merit for their heroic act.
