Not Doing Well on STEEM Fulltime| Without Kpines Support I'll Need a Day Time Job| Anybody doing STEEM Fulltime?

in #dtube5 years ago

Basically, I am re-strategizing and weighing my options. Truth is, I am not making enough for expense and I HATE to takeget out my STEEM or Powerdown. I have worked so hardhard for it. I wanna save it. So job hunting soon maybe an option :/

HAPPY THURSDAY :)

I feel like this is an inherant risk with fulltime creating regardless of the platform.

If you are a fulltime creator and are surviving off of adsense or patreon or upvotes, you are, unfortunately, vulnerable to any of those being pulled without warning.

I guess the rewards for creating can be worth the risk, but perhaps we should always have alternative income sources ready and waiting.

It always pays to diversify...

I would like to become a fulltime creator - but the lack of security makes me too afraid.

So I'll keep my job, lol.

Steem I think is better suited for passive supplemental income - at least, it is for me.

I know that some people do rely and survive off of their steem earnings - so it might be enough for some people.

Would it support my wife and I? Unlikely.

You have a point!

I always thought of diversifying but I just hadn't brought myself to. It is now kind of a wake up call.

I think STEEM Should be like a savings account or back up plan of sort. Maybe with STEEM at $50 or $100 we could comfortably do this fulltime but at the moment it is gonna be hard.

Definitely going to adjust accordingly.

Thanks a lot for publishing your income details of the last days and your thoughts and plans. Thats really transparent and true :)

It is always good to have a stable income and as long as steem is sooo unstable like it is right now, my only advice is: get the job even if it is not fulltime and keep on steeming in your free time. I think this is the only way for now to be prepared for the future.
Just like others mentioned here too: the delegations of our favorite platforms are not safe as well. misterdelegation could decide to reject them and then a 100% upvote of dtube could be worth 1$ or less. (I personally dont think this will happen - but what if..)

I wish you much success for finding a good job you are enjoying as well as steeming. Perhaps you could something similar for a company? you could sell yourself as "social media and blockchain specialist" ;)

My personal message is always: Don't take things for granted. Nothing is safe and guaranteed and it is our responsibility to think about possible crashs and the results.

Please keep us updated!

Peace!

My!

Thank you for this valueable intell. I am definitely now woke and looking into more options to help me diversify.

There was a moment I could see myself doing this fulltime but certainly not now.

I have a more clear perspective and I'm glad and proud of what I've managed to accomplish in the year I've been on STEEM. Never take the opportunity or the support for granted.

Best Wishes to you too on your journey. Hope I do get a fun job💯💯✔✔♨♨☺

Yeah, I miss @kpine's votes too, he supported a lot of people. Any idea what happened to him, I notice his account only votes for $.31 now. Did we lose a whale?

His delegation was pulled back by riverhead. Not sure if he's probably the owner of the 2 accounts. Either way, losing Kpine has stopped so many people from putting in as much as they did before 😣

I have never gotten @kpine upvotes but hey I am a fulltime steemian. I am usually short most weeks but that doesn't stop me. I am currently powering down and I would say its basically about perspective. I am really amazed by the fact that many have never powered down or converted to their fiat to steem. It is my steem and I can do what I want with it. I am not waiting till it hits $10, that may never happen.

You can invest in other dapps and earn for doing so. That's an option.

Yeah, that's an other way of looking at it. The FOMO on future STEEM Posibilities is unberable for most. I do take out some steem from time to time, but I'd never powerdown just to put money in the bank. I'd rather leave it on here just cause the banking system isn't any better.

It's really all a gamble in this space.

I guess, like Nonso says, it's a matter of whether you have other options. If you can get the work for a better income then you go for that, but if you have no other choice you do what you can to make it work.
If you get a job you could delegate and keep earning that way if you don't have the time to do much.
I’m quite pleased to hear you've been able to make enough to cover costs without taking much out before now. It's not something I could do where I live, due to the cost of living, so its good to know it can make a difference in some places.
Sadly we can't always rely on the support of others as their situations change.

True!True.
I'd say I was and doing better than most people who have office jobs in most corporate jobs here.

I'd still preferto wait for that ATH Mark before I can take out any more of my STEEM. It's been a lot of work and It's only fair for it to mean something if I'm gonna sell.

If I have to get a day job as I wait for that, then I'm good with it. This was supposes to be a long term strategy after all, at least for me :)

Get the day job. You'll still have time for steem. And make sure you have a plan in place in case dtube and steemhunt stop getting delegation 👊

OMG that would be terrible! And a disaster! Those arr basically the most active dapps, holding things in place at the moment. There were rumors of thevposibility of DTube losing delegation, to be honest I'd stop steeming all together if that were to happen😣😲😅

That's exactly why you need to prepare for these things haha

Aawww, thank you for watching :))

Yeah
I understand where you coming from, these days it's hard doing steem full time, it's the passion that keeps you going but it's OK to have another source of income.

Very true on the passion. And the possibilities that lie ahead. Definitely going to diversify. Thanks for stopping by xo

Generally speaking, you should probably try not to power down your Steem money if you don't have to because long-term investment can have a bigger impact financially and everything. But it can be very tough if you have no other options available. Investment can take many years to profit from. Please take care.
