Colin Cantrell - In Studio
BIO: Colin Cantrell has been interested in coding and space advancement since a very young age. He learned visual basic at age twelve and by sixteen years old was already designing rockets with his father. Now at age twenty seven, Colin is a hardware and software expert, inventor, composer, musician, philanthropist and entrepreneur determined to bring positive change to the world through his creation of Nexus.
Through his knowledge of quantum physics, advanced coding and humanitarian awareness, Colin has designed a protocol and peer-to-peer network technology aimed at solving some of the most difficult challenges of today and tomorrow. His passion and study of physics, philosophy, history and cryptography, has taught him to remain grounded while enabling him to empower people through education, positivity, technology, and unity.

Blockchain Architecture
In conventional blockchain designs, it is impossible to achieve scale if every computer has to process all transactions. To solve this problem, Nexus has designed a blockchain architecture using parallel processing which can achieve scale while providing other desirable qualities such as immutability and security. This architecture has been named "Multi Dimensional Chaining", due to it having three core dimensions that define its structure, along with three forms of consensus. Trust, Nexus' time-based security mechanism, is used to improve the security of the network by requiring time to be continuously contributed in order to validate transactions. This design ensures that the protocol stays distributed while share based weighting lowers miner centralization. This architecture is being implemented through three major upgrades: Tritium (3.0), Amine (4.0), and Obsidian (5.0).
Security
Nexus incorporates technology designed to negate the threat posed by theoretical quantum computers. The ledger combines 571-bit private keys, 1024-bit Skein and Keccak quantum-resistant hashing algorithms, and an evolving signature scheme called signature chains. With Tritium, signature chains will maintain the integrity and security of your account by updating your key-pair after every transaction, and obscuring public keys until a transaction is made. This offers several advantages over equivalent quantum-resistant schemes, being extremely compact and lightweight, making it ideal for blockchain applications.

Satellites
There are billions of people in the world unable to connect to the internet, cases of rising censorship, and an internet model becoming increasingly centralized. In response to this, Nexus is developing a satellite based routing layer in Low Earth Orbit. The pooled design will give access to users based on their contribution, creating a meritocracy of hardware and distributed ownership. Satellites will relay data between each other and ground stations, routing traffic for one another, producing shared capacity and low latency.

Distributed Systems
The world is moving away from centralized models, as we continue to see an increasing need for it. With the rise of crypto-currencies and distributed technology such as the internet, we now have proven cases of how distribution of resources and power creates systems that retain higher levels of integrity. Observing conditions of the world, we find it increasingly necessary to adopt higher levels of distribution in society, technology, and economics. In light of this, we develop technology that can benefit information systems, cryptocurrency, internet infrastructure, and social organization. Together we believe that innovation is a large part of this distribution, and that when fully formed, we can see a world where people have greater connection to one another.
