We are cursed by the knowledge of tomorrow

Do you ever think about tomorrow? I know that I do. Is it only humans that think about tomorrow? Do other animals think and plan for tomorrow?

When you think about how animals spend their time, it sounds pretty sweet. What do they do...Eat? Breed? Sleep? That sounds like an alright day to me. Instead, we are thinking about how to spend our day and what to do tomorrow.

I think that having the knowledge that there is a "tomorrow" is a curse. We spend so much time thinking and planning for tomorrow, and we don't even know if it will come. We eat a certain way, act a certain way, plan a certain way...just planning for tomorrow. We even plan for years from now, and having enough money to pay for tomorrow's tomorrow.

What if we only had to think about each day like an animal, and not knowing what a tomorrow was! Would we live more passionately? Would we be less likely to just waste our day? Would we love each other harder?

What if we had something in our lives that showed us that we are not guaranteed a tomorrow. For our family that was 6/26/14. We were in a bad car accident. We were just driving along like normal and someone hit us. It was not our fault, but changed are lives anyway. Now, we aren't afraid to hug each other and kiss cheeks when we leave. You never know if you are going to see them again.

I am fully convinced that having the knowledge of a tomorrow is a curse. I think that if we didn't always think about tomorrow then we would be living a more awesome today!
