What is a LIBERAL?
I am sick of people who take the time to educate themselves on issues only to remain ignorant to the word liberal. It does not mean what you think. I can prove it.
The word is formed by taking the Latin word LIBER and adding the English suffix -al to it. Let's look at that for a moment. Latin is what is known as a dead language. Latin is no longer in use other than specific anomalies. It's meaning does not change. It is what it is. And, that meaning is freedom.
The English suffix -al has a meaning also. It means the action or process of.
Now let's put them together. What do we get as the meaning of liberal? Someone who is guided by the action or process of freedom. That's odd. Sounds like someone trying to live and let live.
Don't confuse a liberal with a progressive. Not only are they not the same, they are political opposites. Yes, I realize word's meanings change, But, see above. Latin words do not.
Then what is a progressive? I am glad you asked. A progressive is someone who believes that freedom is disgusting. A progressive is someone who believes that we must progress toward a goal. But, what is that goal?
Where did this idea of progressive thought come from. While it bounced around from person to person before then, it was formalized in the Fabian Society in 1884. I wont tell you about them. I will let them speak for themselves.

So, this is the "progress" of which they speak: Democratic Socialism. And, they tell you. That is the difference between a communist and a democratic socialist. One wants to kill you up front. One wants to kill you slowly. But, neither wants you to be free. And, they both want you either controlled or dead.
They know they are hateful. The original coat of arms for the Fabian Society was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Their entire strategy is deception.
Do not be fooled. And, do not grant to a progressive the honor of being called a liberal. They are anything but liberal. I am a liberal. They are progressives. We are political enemies.
