Why Dtube? thats the question.
I've uploaded more than 200 videos to Dtube. precisely 225 videos. The videos are mostly about traveling, Steem and its dapps and general life topics. Most of the Steem i own is earned because of this video platform. But i'm not doing it for the money.. trust me. I upload that frequent because:

1. Filmmaking and vlogging is my big passion
2. I am very excited about the technology behind this platform.

The Trailer

so recently @coruscate hosted a video contest through @steemonboarding sponsored by @blocktrades
The contest was about producing a video explaining what Dtube is. i was very busy at that time but excited to participate as well. so i managed to get out a trailer with the time and resources i had back then. This is what i produced:

why?

Some people are criticizing that the videos are only hosted for couple of days, som criticize the user interface or the usability. But keep in mind this is a startup with much less capital than the big companies like youtube or facebook. And nevertheless Dtube works as a minimal viable product. What i mean by that, the main functions of a video platform are working perfectly fine and much more on top of it! let me explain. You can upload a video, host it by yourself, nobody can censor it and you get rewarded from day one without any hurdles of minimum subscribers or view time. Compare those features of a startup with youtube. thats why i see a bright future for Dtube!

manipulation of information

and besides those features i've mentioned, Dtube works on the Steem Blockchain "Proof-of-Brain" technology. That means no algorithm can manipulate the content shown. The information you'll get are curated by the community. You think the Youtube algorithm is doing a good job? then watch this video and think twice:

Click bait videos going viral, shadow banning content and unfair censorship policies. Let's be honest, as long as social media is centralized, money and political interests will influence the economy of it.
Decentralization will change this and give back the power to the people.

That's why Dtube!
