A day in the Biesbosch
Forget Halong Bay Vietnam, Forget Kao Sok Thailand. Right here in the Netherlands you also have you own opportunity to just boat away for a day!
I really tend to forget these kinds of things, that nature in Holland in Summer is also super diverse and that there are so many options to do. It is just so flat, and that is the one thing that misses sometimes in the view. There are no mountains around, but still there is enough other chill stuff to do.
Take renting a boat in the Biesbosch for instance. The Biesbosch is a nature reserve area in the South West of Holland where you can rent all kinds of boats just to float around in nature. For many boats you don’t even need a boating license, you just need some common sense. Also you are allowed to bring all you own food and drinks on the boat if you want (better do so, the nature reserve doesn’t have any floating bars or restaurants there), and for about $40 bucks you can have a 6 person boat already! Not too bad of a deal I find.
A day away from the city, it is not that hard to find!
