Basic Tutorial: How to Put Zipper on you Sweatshirt / Ddiy No. 2

Hello Dtube and Stemians my greeting to you .

Today I’m gonna make another basic tutorial for remodeling your clothes .

This is TO PUT ZIPPER IN YOUR SWEATSHIRT .
Lets get started.

Materials:

1. Sweatshirts you want to put zipper , Zipper, Marker , Pins , For measurement , Scissor, Ruler , Thread and
   Sewing Machine .

Steps. Fitst Part

1. Lay flat your sweatshirt
2. Zipper ( If your zipper not the right size and long )
   a. Put over your zipper to the Sweatshirt place exact from bottom till to top.
   b. Make a mark to your zipper from the top of the neckline then mark the allowance
   ( I marked 2 cm but you can longer ( ex. 3 or 4 cm) Then It’s much more easier for you to sew
   c. Cut the zipper from the mark you made.
   ** If you have the proper length zipper for your project then you can skip this step.
3. Make a mark from the middle of the sweatshirt then do the CUT. (cut only on the front)
4. Pin the wrong side of the zipper to the right side of the Sweatshirt
   ** I use the right part of the zipper to the right part of the sweater.
   ** Begin on the right side
5. Make the first sew to attach started on the neckline (top) , Fold (Hide) in the over zipper to the back then
   turn the zipper to the right side ,
6. Make a Top Stitch. The first part is done.

LEFT PART SEWING :

1. Zip together the zipper then make a mark on the left zipper to where the zipper started on the bottom on
   the first part and also on the style
   ** This will help you to sew easier and to have a perfect lining
2. Separate the zipper and Pin the wrong side of the zipper to the right side of the clothe then make a stitch
   ** (start on the bottom)
3. Turn the zipper to the right side , then Make a Top Stitch.
   ** on the almost end of the top stitch (neckline) Fold (hide) the zipper to the back the continue to sew .

Now Your new (remodel) sweatshirt .Hurray :)

**Tips

1. Use proper needle
2. Use zipper foot for easier sewing .
3. It is better to cut the zipper longer ( you can always adjust it) than shorter you cannot put it back once you
   already cut.
4. Zipper , If the over zipper that you fold to sew is too bulky ?
   ** Remove some teeth of the zipper ( careful don’t cut the fabric of the zipper from the top (where you cut),
   until to the top of neckline that way it will be easier for you to sew .
