Focus On Your Favourite Features to Create a Beautiful Makeup Look

in #dtube5 years ago

Let’s be honest—makeup application and products can be extremely overwhelming! For novices first entering the makeup industry, they often believe that they have to purchase every single product. If this situation describes you—I’m here to tell you that isn’t necessary!

In today’s tutorial, I would like to share some tips and tricks on how you can reduce the amount of makeup but still look gorgeous in the end. With these best practices, you can upgrade an ordinary look into something long-lasting for any occasion.

What Are Your Favourite Features?

Everybody has features—areas that they like the most about their face like eyes, lips, nose, bone-structure or brows. For example, I like my eyes and lips the most, which is what I’m going to emphasize in today’s video.

For the rest of my face, I kept it pretty simple by only using a BB cream and a bit of powder. This way I’m spending less time and product on those areas and emphasizing the features that I like about myself more so that they are standing out!

Tools Needed

To get started, I need the following tools:

• Concealer
• Makeup Sponge
• Loose powder
• Small powder brush
• Eyeshadows that are suitable or favourite colours
• Eyeshadow brushes
• Mascara
• Lipstick

Step 1: Conceal and Set

To prepare the eyelid area, I like to use concealer to cancel out any discolorations and give an even base.

Apply some concealer on the main eyelid area and then blend it all over the lid with a damp sponge. After that, take a small fluffy brush and dig into some loose powder to set the eye area.

Step 2: Apply Main Eyelid Shadow

Use a smudging eyeshadow brush to dig into your first shade and apply it on the main eyelid area. Apply it close to the lashes and move upwards until you reach the crease. You can use dabbing motions first to press the shadow in and then blend it a tiny bit as well.

Step 3: Blend the Shadow

Using a clean blending brush, blend the shadow into the crease to soften any edges. If you feel like you want to add more shadow to the crease for a dramatic look, you can do so. Start slowly and blend in between your layers to keep control over the shadow.

Step 4: Blend the Lower Lash Line

Once blended, you can use the same shadow to begin focusing on the lower lash line. This process will help bring the upper and lower part of the eye together for a more cohesive look. Use a flat eyeshadow brush to help you with a better application and don’t forget to blend the outer corner together as well.

Step 5: Apply Mascara

Mascara is a great product to open up your eyes and create an impactful makeup appearance! Apply mascara to both your upper and lower lash line.

Step 6: Lips

Emphasise your lips with a liquid lipstick which helps even out the shape as well as create a clean and beautiful lip.

With these six steps, you can do more with less! Focus on the features you like the best to save time in your makeup routine and not break your bank when buying new products.
