This is the exact thing I am looking for.
I would love to get a bobblehead of my avatar that I use on here. see, since starting blogging on steemit, I have created some great artwork to compliment my name (sort of like a brand) and one year down the line and I now want to create all sorts with that brand. The main thing being a bobblehead of this...
3D printing has opened up the options of manufacturing to the masses and i know that one day he will be sat on my desk as i write. well done on a great post and if you have any information about how i can make it happen i would be truley greatful
Thanks! For something like that - it would have to be designed in 3D since there is nothing to scan. A good buddy of mine can do just that if interested, he just charges $40-$50 per hour of work, and I'd assume it would take at least 2 hours. Thats the cost a lot of people don't think about with 3D printing - since designing is a real skill.
Then printing is something that should be cheap when done in bobblehead size - it would be the painting that would cost the most. So you could paint yourself to save on the bulk of the price.
You could also play around with Z-Brush if you have some natural art skills - I just have no ability in that regard haha.

Looks like you have to know a lot to create your own Bobblehead. I have zero experience and I know I'm not the only one, so these video tutorials definitely help.
It was funny to see how you painted your own "face", especially the eyebrows, that is a precise job but you did well, really looks like you. I had a lot of fun watching this video 😁
