Locals help firefighters extinguish wildfires raging on Greek island of Evia

Locals assisted firefighters in extinguishing wildfires raging on the Greek island of Evia (Euboea), north of Athens, as flames were seen approaching residential area on Wednesday.

Athens which is 110 km (70 miles) away from Evia has been covered with smoke since Tuesday with some residents reporting ash falling from the sky.
