DTube test 2019

in #dtube5 years ago

Sorry, for yet another short video upload test. I've been having problems uploading video. If this works, expect more fun and exciting videos from me in the near future.

There is a paid hosting service by #OneLoveDTube which also gives you access to the private uploader completely skipping complications of the official d.tube uploader by allowing the user to do their own rendering of qualities. Typically we see better playability with no downtime and those pesky thumbnails don’t disappear either!

Just sayin’

You could also look at DTube.network for free community hosting with same benefits for those time d.tube just won’t work for yea.

Thanks. I'd been aware of the #onelovedtube service for a while, but DTube needs to fix their shizzle, so to speak.

I'll look into it.

The future of DTube is in its users hosting their own files, paying for file hosting is not feasible by any centralized entity as it causes problems like these and potentially creates a target for censorship.

These problems extend from the amount of money that is being hemorrhaged by DTube to host videos of the same people they are paying with little to nothing in return for it other then the ability to sell curation rewards... current prices do not support this business model well.

Yeah, I agree. It's going to collapse if they aren't careful. My issue is the dependability and ease of either uploading or viewing videos. This is the core of what DTube's function is and if they can't get that right, how can they even consider to compete with YouTube.

Even @ned did livestreams on YouTube because DLive left Steem. Shakes head.

I'll continue to try to do the best videos that I can do and I will look into One Love Dtube.
I can't really afford to pay for hosting right now at these prices, but I am hoping to build an audience and some community support. My goal for this year is to go from Minnow to Dolphin and this sort of stuff is making it difficult.

Yea having so many functionality hurdles to overcome definitely makes the process of being a DTuber over complicated at times.

Not sure we will ever truly compete with YouTube but we may be the censorship resistant alternative, if you host your files no one can take them down. That seems to be the strength of this platform while also being a weakness as most people do not face the censorship hurdle so they have no motivation to understand how to support the network giving them that voice in the first place.

You could always look at DTube.network which is the community hosting network as the non paid alternative, uses the same code as d.tube. Will help with playability and life of video but will still have the hash queue waits.

I agree right now it’s hard to generate enough income to make any meaningful investments.

Mine sometimes take a second try to get up, but usually work well.
