Quick Core Burnout!

in #dtude6 years ago (edited)

Hello, friends!

Just wanted to share a short video with you all today about a quick little core burnout set that you can do anytime, anywhere!

I love finishing my workouts with core work, because usually the exercises I’ve already done have taxed my abs quite a bit, and I like to use the bulk of my deep core strength to stabilize and effectively lift - after that, any more is just a bonus!

Today I decided to do three movements, and do a rep scheme of 30-20-10 with as little rest as possible in between… Meaning 30 reps of each of the three exercises, then 20 reps of each, then 10 reps of each. Even though the sets get shorter, it’s still keeps your core on fire!

The exercises I chose today were:

Crunches (feet elevated on a box)
V-twists (per side)
Hollow rock (back and forth equals 1 rep)

Again, 30 crunches, straight into 30 v-twists per side, straight into 30 reps hollow rock. Then 20 of each the same way, then 10 of each. Ouch!!

I chose these exercises to attack all parts of your core, so that you get a well balanced burn in a short amount of time. I’ve been trying to mindfully include a little extra core work each day, so I’ll keep sharing ideas if you guys would like! :)

I used a 15lb weight for my exercises, but these can be done with more, less, or even no weight and will still get plenty spicy… I strive to push myself the best I can without sacrificing form!

One suggestion I forgot to make in my video is to really focus on the mind-muscle connection here, making sure that you specifically recruit and target your ab muscles even as you start to fatigue.

It doesn’t have to be fancy to be effective, and I’d say that this was DEFINITELY effective!

Plus, I had a great bonus - my boyfriend Chris joined me! It’s super nice to have a workout partner, so get out there and find one if you haven’t already! I appreciate a gentle push in the right direction when I need one, and I’m there to do the same for him… Together, we always get more work done than we would on our own. And it’s way more fun!

Let me know if you guys try this, or if you have any questions! I love hearing your feedback, and I promise I’ll keep working on my videos to improve them for you :)

Thanks for reading (and watching!), I am so thankful for your support!

Please feel free to comment, upvote, or resteem if you’d like! :)

Consistency is key but once you get that momentum rolling it is hard to stop! :)

Thanks for the upvote and that picture is hilarious! :) Thanks for putting a smile on my face to start the day!

Right on, I got to get that momentum going forsure
thx eh

Hey @clifpower as @annemariemay wisely stated it's all about consistency.

Try setting a goal for 90 days.

This may sound kind of cliche but write your goals down. Go over them the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night.

If you fall off the bandwagon get right back up and continue moving forward. 💪🏾💪🏾

Yes! Writing down your goals is such an important exercise and truly helps when trying to stay focus on your big or small goals! :)

Well-put @gflfitness! :)

Thx for the encouragement. Losing weight always a huge challenge.
So just for that.................

core is a b****, thanks for sharing

You can say that again! It feels like your core is in a massive knot that is going to be permanently stuck after every set! Give it a shot and let me know what you think :)

Wow.. That's some intense core workout yet you guys managed to make it look so easy! I'll give it try later today. :)

Im glad it looked easy because I was dying! haha Let me know how it went! :)

And thank you so much for the resteem!! :) That is so sweet of you! :)

I finally got around to posting about it here https://busy.org/@jazzybells/more-from-last-sunday-s-workout . I actually was gonna post the video of the workout but it was too humbug to edit because it ended up being over 15 minutes long. LOL. I probably took too many breaks :D

Wow that was a killer workout. I got exhausted just looking at you guys go at it and I haven't tried it 😁

I haven't tried this combination but I'll definitely give it a shot
I'll let you guys know how it goes💪🏾💪🏾

Please do! I would love your feedback! :) Thanks for watching!

For sure 👍🏾

good exercise 👍

Thanks friend! :)

Nice combination!

It doesn’t have to be fancy to be effective

Absolutely, I agree with that.
When you do workout with someone else, that works like an extra motivation to push yourself. Thanks very much for the bonus! :)

Having a partner helps so much to stay on task! I strongly recommend finding a workout buddy so that it is easier to stay accountable! And sometimes the movements that look simple are the hardest ones! haha

Thanks for watching :)

Having a workout buddy is very important. And that's really motivating if workout buddy is your girlfriend/boyfriend! :) You're lucky, my friend!

Yeah, it looks simple on video. When you try to do that, you know how simple it is... lol...

haha very true! :)

Wow your incredibly strong.
Amazing core strength!

That is really nice of you to say! Thank you :) I am working on it!
