Built an app for users to watch sports and earn crypto. All in 48 hours.
GumGum is an AI company with a proficiency in computer vision. Every year we host a hackathon for 2 days where everyone is invited to build something cool and valuable to the business.
Since data (for every AI) company is important, in order to train the AI systems to recognize certain items, we decided to try to tackle this problem.
Simply put: we need people to draw bounding boxes around logos they find in an image so we can feed this into our AI
We were thinking about crowdsourcing the work as there are tons of people around the world that would potentially find this fun and useful.
But we needed something that was:
Borderless, instant, good for micropayments, good for people without banks and low fee. Immediately crypto came to mind.
