What we do for the enviroment + The menu for our next event!

As you might already know, we in the Ambrosia crew care a lot about animal and human welfare.
Our beliefs that we wanna spread through the cafe, evolves a lot around showing people that they do not have to harm any animals in order to eat the food they love and get the healing they need.

But, another important thing that we care as well as much about is the environment!
Taking care of our planet is as important as taking care of each other, the way we see it.
We as humans produce a way to much garbage, use way too much plastic and we do not have a well established enough system to recycle all of the things that we produce.

Excessive packaging, over-use of plastic and people not knowing what to do with their waste, is all aspects contributing to harmful causes that are happening to our planet.

If people were more aware, they would start thinking reusable and sustainable.

Pick up plastic in nature, recycle it. Choose the veggies without all that wrapping that you will throw out once you come home anyway. Buy a wood or bamboo toothbrush instead of the plastic ones. Try some delicious vegetarian food. Use a reusable cup in stead of taking a new disposable one-every day.

There are so many ways you can contribute to making our mother earth, Gaia, happier. She will reward you for sure.

We in Ambrosia have been talking a lot about this, and we wish to be not just an environmentally friendly cafe, but a cafe that does a difference to our planet!

Serving fully vegan, healthy and sustainable meals, while inspiring people to take care of each other and not harm animals is a dream coming true for us.
But now that we are taking the step further, serving our food and healing herbs on events such as tribal gatherings and festivals;
We have to think about taking care of our waste properly.

It is no secret that cafes and restaurants produce a lot of garbage, and use way too much plastic.
That is something that we wish to challenge; we refuse to let our lust for inspiring with art and food harm mother Gaia, who gives us the opportunity to do what we love.

On all the events we are attending, we will encourage the guests to bring their own portable cutlery.
For those who forget, or do not have the opportunity to bring their own, we now have 100% biodegradable of everything.

Cutlery, soup bowls, paper napkins, drinking classes, coffee & tea cups, and plates. All are made from sustainable wood and sugar fiber.

Everything that comes out from our cafe is made from plants and can be recycled in the soil. We will use reusable boxes to contain the food. Since the next event we are attending is a tribal gathering in the forest; we will dig a compost hole and dispose of all the plates, cutlery and food waste there.

As mentioned earlier, the next event our cafe is traveling to is "Alfheimr - 2 Day Tribal gathering and release Party" in the Norwegian forest.

We are looking so much forward to having a magical and psychedelic weekend with music, healing and food.

We just shared our menu in the event, so we decided to post it here as well!

Alfheimr Mabon 2018 ~Ambrosia - Vegan food and herbal healing ~MENU:

Amazingly Colorful Stew, with veggies of the season:

~Sweet potato and other goodies cooked in homemade broth, red wine, and Italian tomato paste; with loads of spices and herbs. Served with focaccia or salad.

Wraps:

~Taco-inspired wrap with mince, homemade taco-spice, nuts, berries, seeds, mixed salad, and dressing

Ohm~let baguette:

~Vegan cheese omelet with onion and ham served in a baguette with mayo, hot sauce, and salad.

Troll cake:

~This is our favorite cake that we make for every event. It is the best ever spice cake, and we make many kinds with different Norwegian berries and Indian spices. This is the only item on our menu that is not gluten-free. But behold...

Energy balls, CocoCrunch, and raw brownie balls:

~We will make a variety of creative and tasteful energy-balls.
All gluten-free of course!

Chai ~Cacao:

~We serve homemade chai with spices we brought from India on Friday and the best hot chocolate with raw cacao on Saturday.
Our chai and cacao will be made during a small ceremony to purify and give energy to it.

Herbal tea:

~We have a variety of herbal teas with herbs that we harvested ourselves in nature.
Energizing, relaxing, healing. We have a variety of blends!

Coffee ~ Organic instant coffee

~ We will have some lovely espresso that you can get with foamed oat milk and hazelnut coffee syrup.

Juice or smoothie & Ice tea:

~ We will make some awesome fresh ice teas, 'Mint, raspberry & lime.' 'Mango, Strawberry & Basil.' ' Ginger, Lemon & Tumeric.'
