Opinion: U.S. corporate leaders are getting worried about a recession

The United States economy has been churning along. While many are seeing a global slowdown, the U.S. is thus far immune. The Fed sees 1.5% growth for this quarter.

Business leaders are starting to take a different view of things. They are still mostly optimistic although a sense of peril is starting to enter. The dismal jobs number for February only fed into this belief.

Many companies announced they are cutting costs in preparation for a slowdown. This might be jumping the gun yet leaders see some rough patches on the horizon.

There is a lot of uncertainty which businesses hate. Some of it is coming from the White House and policy while others are economic factors outside business control.
