Is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all? ecotrain Question Of The Week

in #ecotrain6 years ago

There aren't many movies that REALLY stuck in my mind, but one of them was Moulin Rouge. It was a powerful and emotive movie about many things, but overall it was about love. The motto of this movie was one that I will always remember:

The Greatest Thing You'll Ever Learn is to Love, and be Loved In return

Who ever forgets their first love? Have you ever had that feeling where nothing else exists except another person? Who remembers those incredible moments when time stops and nothing else even matters? In that state of rapture we are lost in a sea of love, feeling for the first time what we really are. We chase this feeling, we can not resist it. When we have it we remember that there is nothing else that feels so good. We would die for Love! All the things that we have been doing to fill the void suddenly lose meaning. We are ready to let go of everything, for the one we love.. for the feeling of love ... even ourselves!

You see, it matters not what kind of love we are talking about. There is parental love, and there is the love of a friend ... we love animals and pets, and we love our partners. When we know true, real love, we don't need Anything else. When we know Unconditional love we are fulfilled on our deepest level. When we feel this, our hearts and souls are carried by the embrace of love, and we find union with the world and ourselves. When there is true love there is no you and there is no I.. there is only we and us. When there is true love we are reminded of our unity with all that is, unconditional love. When our hearts open we discover our love for everything and all of creation. Love has no boundaries, love knows no colour... love just wants to give and forgive. When we discover this we want nothing more from life, because when you have it you know that there nothing else you would rather have.

If we can love one person, we can love any person. Loving your partner or even pet is a doorway to Universal love. If we can overcome our minds and our limitations, we can love each and every tiny blade of grass, every drop of water, and breath of air. When our hearts our truly open we become who we really are. It is sad that not everyone will experience true love this lifetime.. and by true I mean Unconditional love rather than the material love of a man or woman. I believe we all yearn deep down for this fulfilment and connection, and the further we step from it the further we part from ourselves. May you reading this now be blessed with the gift and joy of knowing true love in your heart this lifetime! You can find it everywhere you look, in You and Me, the Sky and in the Sea, with the Sun and with Mother Gaia. You may say Jesus or Mary, or Alah or God ... it can big or it can be small .. it is possible to love it all!

A part of love is loss. A part of life is loss. The hardest part of love is loss, but would I rather have never have loved at all to avoid it?... No chance sunshine! A life without love is like a fish out of water! Life is an endless spiral of deepening experiences and lessons. As we grow and age we are given the opportunity to become more than we are today. Sometimes loss is a part of that process but it is a part of the journey to self discovery and oneness. It is so difficult to cross this ocean of love, but From bitter comes sweet in the end... Love has no limit, Love has no birth, Love has no death ... Love is my form.

I would like to leave you with excerts from a rather special poem by Sai Baba.

There is only one religion, the religion of Love;
There is only one language, the language of the Heart;
There is only one caste, the caste of Humanity;
There is only one law, the law of Karma;
There is only one God, He is Omnipresent.

Let the different faiths exist, let them flourish,
Let the glory of God be sung in all languages in a variety of tunes.
That should be the ideal. Respect the differences between the faiths
and recognize them as valid so far as they do not extinguish the flame of unity.
In spiritual terms all of mankind belongs to one and the same class, race, and religion.

There is only one God, one Goal, one Law, one Truth, one Religion and one Reason.

Reach the point where churches, temples, mosques do not matter,
where all roads end, from where all roads run.

Nations are many, but Earth is one;
Beings are many, but Breath is one;
Stars are many, but Sky is one;
Oceans are many, but Water is one;
Religions are many, but God is one;
Jewels are many, but Gold is one;
Appearances are many, but Reality is One.

God will not ask you when and where you did service?
He will ask, with what motive did you do it?
What was the intention that prompted you?
You may weigh the service and boast of its quantity.
But God seeks quality - the quality of heart, the purity of mind, the holiness of motive.

Man can realize his mission on the earth only when he knows himself as Divine and when he reveres all others as Divine.

The 8 Pillars of @TribeSteemUp

God indeed is love and He wants us to love and cherish ourselves, we may be lost as we love only when we love with our flesh. Love is perfect, kind, seeks to forgive rather than revenge. Only if we love others the way God loves us then we would never be loss or get lost as we love as God loves

this is so beautiful and perfect. i agree so much! well done answering this question. thank you, alex!

Life is an endless spiral of deepening experiences and lessons. As we grow and age we are given the opportunity to become more than we are today.

yes yes yes yes <3

This is turning out to be a hard one for me to write about, I really enjoyed reading your answer and how important it is to see love as universal, I love this

If we can overcome our minds and our limitations, we can love each and every tiny blade of grass, every drop of water, and breath of air. When our hearts our truly open we become who we really are.

Loss is a part of life, we need to experience it in order to allow ourselves to grow. But I shouldn't say too much as I have yet to write mine, much love to you @eco-alex you have such a healthy and real view of love as it is something that can be hard to describe xxxx

Romantic love and I do not do well with each other so i decided to walk away from it and my life has been better for it. The rest of the love spectrum works well for me for the most part.

If we can overcome our minds and our limitations, we can love each and every tiny blade of grass, every drop of water, and breath of air.

This is such a beautiful sentiment. A GORGEOUS post. You are such a romantic arent you! And yes... all gateways to universal love.

Lovely right up.
There used to be a time in my life that i fell in love. Everyone was expecting me to be the righteous one.
I met a friend who didnt want me to fall in love with a guy and i was very angry.
Although the love was one sided i always felt happy and sad at the same time.
It was my first and i told myself i was going to try and win my love.
It was a frutile attempt and i dont think i would fall in love again. Because it hurts badly when you are not loved back ... But the feeling is euphoria...Nice work

I LOVE that quote from Moulin Rouge, it is one that stuck with me too. "When there is true love we are reminded of our unity." This is so true. When there is true love there is no ego, it is only our ego that keeps us separate. Much love to you @ecoalex ❤❤

Let's just say that the only reason I've made it through the first 2 years of my marriage is not because I made my wife a promise - it's because I made my God a promise. To me, Love is more of a choice than it is a feeling or the result of a temporary hormonal high. The love from God and my love of God will always carry the day, because human intentions, ability, and promises will always come to an end - but Divine power is eternal.

If we can love one person, we can love any person

There is great wisdom in those words...
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this, it was a very enjoyable and an uplifting read, positive and as expected, full of love. I love that poem from Sai Baba, one of the best when it comes to the Universal understanding of what truth, life, and love really are. Much love 💚
