Thanks to all of you that took part, I wasn't quite sure what to expect when i asked this question. It was really a joy to read all the answers.. and SO many of them focused on such beautiful examples of magic.. not just the crazy type that you don't even know how to explain it, but also the most amazing magical things in our lives... such as the great miracle of creating life and having children, or the wondrous magic of nature! It's all in the mix this week, so if you are into inspirational and beautiful stories, go grab a cuppa chai and enjoy the ride!

Magic in, and all around us
First of all, I would like to talk about the magic that is everyday life, but which we don't always remember to see as such. The magic of life itself. It begins when a little seed starts to germinate and turns into a plant or flower, or even a tree. When a child is conceived, and little tiny cells turn into a human being. Or the same with animals. When a caterpillar does its thing and turns into a beautiful butterfly. Some call it God, some call it the divine plan, science, and there are many other terms for it, but whatever we may call it, it is truly magical. Or the miracle of life. I mean: from an egg to this majestic bird below...it's a miracle.

Now, to illustrate my whole-hearted and definite reply, let's take a step back and dissect the idea of "Magic".
Getting Magic Tricks out of the Way... for Now
If I mention stage magicians, who pull rabbits out of hats, I'm sure the immediate reply will be...Oh no, not THAT kind of magic!Really why not?Is it because stage magic is intentionally supposed to be a trick of the mind?

Do You Believe In Magic?
o answer a very interesting question asked by@ecotrainin their "Question Of The Week", where they asked their readers if they believed in Magic, miracles and if they have had experiences or stories in which they could consider that something had happened to them that could be considered magical, here is my post:
According to the dictionary, Magic is known as "the art, technique or occult science with which it is intended to produce extraordinary phenomena, contrary to natural laws that sometimes requires the intervention of spirits", in a certain way what is considered Magic has much to do with what is considered "Miracle", both are extraordinary phenomena that seem to contradict natural law.

As a kid I always thought magic was real. Then growing up we're taught that it's simple trickery and misleading the witnesses. Well, is this really the case or is there some truth behind magic? The@ecotrainpopup question of the week aims to challenge it's members as to whether or not they believe in magic or miracles. Or is it all nonsense and only for the gullible people in the world to fall for?
I recently wrote an article on miracles and how they can be generated by focused thought and sincere effort. I believe that we are all capable of generating miracles. So whether you call it magic or miracles, yes -we can all perform "magic."It just comes down to how hard or focused you are with what you are trying to accomplish.

Miracle - The Magic in real life.
My aunt who got married at the age of 21 could not have child of her own due to some biological problems with her body. She went to many doctors, tried different kinds of treatments and what not till the age of 41. Nothing was working out for her, the doctors also said that biologically it is impossible and treatments should be stopped. Despaired, she stopped having any kind of treatments, stopped visiting doctors and also stopped discussing it with others in family. But she was sad and everyone could see it on her face. She so badly wanted to feel what its like to give birth to a child that she prayed. She prayed and prayed continuously for months.

I absolutely and firmly believe in Miracles, Life itself is so miraculous, every moment a miracle is happening around us; if we are mindful enough we will notice them. Some people term Miracles as Faith, but I have experienced such things in life that I will like to call it Miracles only.
Have you noticed this, sometimes you are feeling very low and then suddenly out of nowhere a friend calls up or something sparky happens and gets you out of that. Is'nt that a miracle?
While there is so much chaos out there in the world at the same time there is also a lot of magic happening out there. If we believe in Miracles they will for surely happen. There have been instances in my life where I have felt stuck up and then suddenly a help comes from nowhere and I believe all these instances to be miracles. Let me share a couple of them with you today.

For me the creation of life is miraculous. From tiny seeds, eggs and sperm an entire new entity grows. Science can only explain so much of it, mostly the physics of it, but it can never really explain the sentience of life. We create computers which can process more and more information, but we still haven't touched on the level of ability the brain has.

There is the fixed patterns and the laws of nature but the dynamics of the unfolding of life is most miraculous! Take for instance the simple sprouting of seeds and how they grow into mature, food producing plants.

I have had many conversations with my girls about magic and what it actually means. I remember when they asked me if magic was real and I told them, of course it is , oh they both got so excited.
Well, where can we learn it?
They asked.
Ah but what do you mean learn it, what kind of magic are you talking about?
It transpired that the magic they wanted to learn was the type of magic, that they could perform in order to turn invisible or turn a person into a mouse.
But that is not the magic I speak of.
I told them.
What you are describing is the magic in stories, the magic that was created from some one's imagination, this type of magic, well you can find it inside books, within your dreams. It is in there, that you can become invisible and shape shift if that is what you desire.
The magic that I am talking about, is the type that you can see, that you can taste and even touch at times. It is the magic that happens all around us.

Jai Ganesh Baba Real Magik! ecoTrain QOTW
The story I am about to share with you is one that I can only call PURE miraculous magic! This story happened to me around the time when I was experiencing some of the most profound, eye opening, spiritual, and enlightening experiences that I have ever had... and I've had a few! I have chosen to share the story of Jai Ganesh Baba because its so simple, sweet, and fun!
This story happened back in 1997 whilst I was on a 5 month journey in India... after finally graduating from University. My entire first journey in India from start to finish was like one very special spiritual experience after another! Anyone who has been to India can probably testify to seeing and experiencing things that are basically beyond anything we can really explain or comprehend.. and they are often SO random like this story!

Miracles and My Personal Manifestation of Magic in Delfi
Do I believe in Miracles?Oh Yes.Mostly I believe in the miracle that Thoughts Become Things - the power of our thoughts and our deepest inner vibrations (often unconscious) to manifest and change physical reality. I have countless examples, but one shines a little more brightly and surprisingly than the rest.
The year was 1995 and I was 32 years old. I had been in training in Australia for one whole year with a witchy-wise-woman in the women's esoteric arts: everything from sacred drum making, energy healing and trance work to esoteric herbs, tarot and holding Women's Circle. After the full year completed at the Winter Solstice, she announced to myself and the other 2 initiates that the time was coming for me to complete my final initiation. None of us had the foggiest idea what she meant by this and it was not until a week or so later - after much meditation and silence - that she announced to us that MY final initiation needed to take place in Delfi, Greece, on the Rock of the Pythia.

awesome question! I'm sure this brought about some awesome reflections from the Ecotrain passengers :) We had a super busy week preparing for and vending our first festival so we missed it, but glad to see so many juicy posts. I'll be sure to check some of them out :)
