Study finds that vast regions of India and Pakistan will become too hot for humans to survive

in #ecotrain5 years ago

The human body can not survive if its core temperature exceeds 35 centigrade. (95 fahrenheit)
To cool down the body emits water (sweat) and by evaporation cools down the body.
But if temperatures are too high and at the same time humidity is too high this does not work any longer.. leading to the body overheating and dying.
Science Advances featured an article of researchers modelling how global warming / climate change will change both measures with horrifying results:

Vast areas of India and Pakistan will become uninhabitable for humans!

Just imagine the effect on these countries and the whole continent!

It is therefor incomprehensible that India still (besides some minor efforts in renewable energies) bets big on burning coal in its power plants, even builds many more.
Having those favorable sunny conditions India should go solar energy full steam ahead!

Though I do not think that we can be certain in our predictions regarding climate, many scientists predict that global warming will result in climate extremes. Hot and dry places will become hotter and dryer, humid places will become more humid and so on. There is also a lot of discussion about climate refugees - people emmigrating out of areas too hot for humans to survive. Its crazy to think of all of those people being displaced to other parts of the world. Things would get pretty crowded. I agree that they should be looking into renewable energy rather than outdated oil and coal, as we all should

just imagine.. all those poor people.. where will they move to.. hundreds of million people... and how will the inhabitants of that country react??? It will be a nightmare... we have to act now!

I agree

They need solar panels..

definitely.. and luckily the economics are already supportive and are getting better and better... the solar PV market should also jump start in India this or next year... even though carbon dioxide emissions being not priced...
