Winter with nothing but big dreams...
It's a strange time...
Trying to grow roots and find myself in a chaotic place..!
Here's a corner of the 2,500 m2 of buildings we now own.
We are walking around in the snow and rain - in the winter that never really freezes completely, just a constant struggle between ice and melt - and puts tarps on broken windows in broken buildings, hoping for a future..!
We salvage food from the bins of the supermarkets and remember to eat all the colors otherwise wasted!
We have almost no money, but looking through the ice and seeing the beauty of the crystalline air bubbles trapped in frozen water, we just cling to the knowledge, that everything is possible and one day summer will be back..
As long as we paint with colors and create beauty in the chaos..
"Here we are building an eco-village"
...we become sign makers for the future and creators of dreams
And heat ourselves by the cleansing fire, burning the old

@frejafri, wow! I want to know more about your eco village! Where are you? What are you doing? What are your plans? What language is that on the window? How many people are you? How long have you been working on it?
Yes, winter sucks lol but we're about out of it here in Texas. There's Hope in some of the flowering trees, though our oaks are still sleeping. I tell them every morning to wake up, but they're bigger than me, so they don't have to listen.

We are in Denmark! On the island Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. A bit far from Texas ;)
We are still very early in the process and it's been a bit hard doing much in winter, but in April it will be warm enough for us to move out to the land in our camper, where we will start restoring the old buildings to be livable. We have a million plans, but we are still very few people (for now just 4) and still need to get all the paperwork in order to include more people, so everything is moving a bit slow, but we have started the garden and hope that the summer will bring new people and ideas to realise this project bit by bit!
The language is Danish! but we are hoping to create an international community. We have one italian so far and interested families from Sweden, Germany and Switzerland.
We just took over the place in December last year, with no plans or work done :P It was the land that found us, so that's where we start and try to build the project over it! :)
What is that symbol in the top right? I've seen it before.
Do you plan to have the property livable by next winter? How cold does it get there? I love love LOVE what you're doing over there :) I'm gonna bug you with a million questions.
