Educating in values and responsibilities is an arduous task, where every day new challenges arise that must be faced. Where you have to manage not to lose respect and also to teach to mature.

Educating is a process that requires patience and is that all children are not equal or learn in the same way. When educated, variables influence personalities, and that is conditioned by genetics.

Children learn more through reinforcement than punishment and there are three types of reinforcements:

  • The reinforcement that goes to the person, as for example by saying: I am proud of you, I am proud of how you work, you have made an effort, you have me happy.
  • The reinforcements of the activity. Those in which he is told how much he is happy with what he has achieved and allows him to share with the child.
  • The material reinforcements. The less material reinforcements are used, the better.
Reinforcements must be social, so it is taught that everything that is achieved in life is based on internal control.

How should the basic standards be applied to the education of children?


The rules are based on learning and are applied with coherence and continuity, obtaining the results.

The rules must be established from childhood, since the rules granted to children of three (03) years and the responsibility that is requested are not the same as those of a child in the maturity stage with twelve (12) or fifteen (15) years. But from the moment you start to act, to do routines, to maintain order, for example, with the baby, even if it is not verbalized, this translates into guidelines and norms.

Sometimes, trying many strategies is not to try everything on children, there are desperate parents and teachers, who usually do the following:

  • They scream.
  • They punish them.
  • They lift the punishment.
But if what is being tested to educate is not done correctly, or does not give the order as it should be, for example:

  • Patience is not saved.
  • He does not know how to keep the punishment in the estimated time, to get results, then nothing will work.
When children see that parents, representatives or teachers do anything and nothing happens, they realize that they feel lost and what is transmitted to them is insecurity.

How to control oneself so as not to lose patience with the behavior of children and educate them in their behaviors with the example that manifests itself?

It is a condition of all children, to continuously seek the limits of adults, then it is necessary before the child reaches the bottom, it must be the adult who takes control.

  • Let him know what you want from the child.
  • Transmit orders in an appropriate manner, that is, the order must be short, consistent, it must not be incompatible with another order.

How far should we point out to children what is right and what is wrong?

They should be told what is good and what is wrong, but not telling them that he, as a person, is good or bad, that is very different. When we try to correct a child, the first thing we must remember is that they are people like the one who wants to teach him in good terms, and that no one likes to be disrespected.

  • Children should be corrected with respect.
  • Conversational voice tone with affection. It does not mean that it is not firm, but always with respect.
  • The child must know what he has and does not have to do.
  • You can not make value judgments.
There must always be a contingency before the mandate given to the child, and it is necessary to determine what has been requested.

Example in the classroom:

  • Set time to collect books, pencils, mess in the classroom.
  • Set the time to complete a task.
Example in homes:

  • At 8pm you should sleep.
  • The task must be ready before starting to play.
Teach that there are consequences, such as:

  • If you do not order the classroom, you will not be able to play.
  • If you do not do homework, you will not be able to watch television before going to sleep.
Everything must be fulfilled when giving the order, so that the limit is seen and it is when the children learn that if they do not do something, they have a consequence. When the child is told that there are consequences and then it is not fulfilled, the child makes fun of it.

How do you make children understand that everything you teach is for their own good?

When establishing a list of things that can not be negotiated and that are generally related to education and the scale of values, children should understand that what is done is for their own good, explaining the consequences of the acts.

Example:

  • It is important that you order, because you have to educate yourself in order.
  • It is not in discussion, you should always study at a specific time, because in the scale of values obligations are the first and then the pleasant.
It is necessary that you work the concentration in this way, it will be more useful for the reason that merits it.

Children being responsible learn to be self-sufficient, independent and prepared for life.


On what is the educator based to educate in values and responsibility?


The educator's job is to teach, and this goes beyond the children to understand the content, there are many things that help them and that is to intervene to help the child to grow, contributing to make them better people, better students. But the interaction must go beyond what is said, evidencing it in actions that will serve for a complete and enriched formation of good behavior and actions, determining what they will become.
