My Thursday with Women Empowerment ( 10 May 2018)

in #education6 years ago

Dear steemians,

On 10 May 2018, we had our first class of this week. We organized the class after lunch and when children are not school, so it seems relaxing time for women. They are working and learning from @WomenEmpowerment. Some of them have planned to buy own sewing machine after the training. We also expect so and hope they will make these dreams possible.

IN the below picture, Juma's mother was working at @SchoolForSDG4. She is a regular trainee of @WomenEmpowerment and one of the good mother.

She wants to buy her own sewing machine one day and perhaps we can arrange small micro load one day for them with the profit. But my first focus on shop for them where they will make clothes and take orders from local people and businesses. I will try to promote online or get a website for sell.

I already have some cool WordPress themes and I will try to give time for theme customization.

Before they try one by one, our trainer was helping them so they can use it more effectively.

Recently @WomenEmpowerment received 15 SBD from @pennsif via #ADollarADay project. I will power up the donation for the development of the social business project. The donation help us to grow on steemit and we are so glad to have any kind of support from our supporter. It also very nice to see all your support to @SchoolForSDG4.

Sewing has a good demand in our area than other areas in Sylhet city because of available women workers. We are focusing on the development of the project. We will invest to open a workstation which is also work as shop where these women will work. Also, some of the women have wished to work at home with their own sewing machine. We will able to support them so they find workload even if they work at home too.

I have some pictures left from the day to share from @WomenEmpowerment and Hope I will able to share soon two weeks picture together and add video.

My brother, thanks for helping people. I always appreciate that! Keep on pushing people forward, it is a noble deed!

Have a great day! Luka

Thank you @whack.science for your kind words and support. The project is active since November 2016 but started on 7 January 2017. And i started to share it here lately. But the support from all of you made me more proud to be here. I am happy to support my community and work with development of the venture.

How much are the sewing machines that the women would buy?

The cost varies sometime but it is not more than 100 USD. The Women Empowerment's existing machine cost was 95 USD.

Do you plan to buy an additional sewing machine for the Women Empowerment project?

How is everyone liking the machine over hand sewing?

Curious: how much does a machine cost?

Actually this machine is commonly used by women in Bangladesh and they find easy to work with it then updated one. Though we will try to use other types of machine when they are making large quantities and so on.

It cost nearly 100 USD to buy the sewing machine we are using.

if we keep women in darkness, half of our population will remain in idle. so we can not develop them. so women empowerment is important

You have a lot of awesome posts, but this is by far one of your best ones man. I needed this one today! Thanks....
